Texas A&M junior forward Pharrel Payne plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after one season with the Aggies.

Payne came to College Station last offseason after spending his first two years at Minnesota, where he averaged 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game for the Golden Gophers. He was a key member of the Aggies’ frontcourt in 2024-25, starting 14 of 34 games and averaging 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest in just over 20 minutes per game.

However, with the reported departure of head coach Buzz Williams to Maryland, Payne will now hit the transfer portal for a second time. With one year of eligibility remaining, he is expected to be a hot commodity among power forwards.

The 6-foot-9, 255-pounder was among the best offensive rebounders in the SEC this season, pulling down 2.6 per game.
