Texas A&M in the top six for four-star S Rahmir Stewart

2023 Philadelphia (Penn.) Imhotep Institute four-star safety Rahmir Stewart is down to six schools: Oregon, Oklahoma, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Stewart, who ranks as the No. 20 safety in the country and a top-five prospect in the state of Pennsylvania previously visited College Station last summer, but the Aggies have remained firmly in the mix for months. Landing his teammate, four-star EDGE Enai White in the 2022 cycle, has certainly helped the Aggies remain heavily involved.

The four-star has made very few visits this spring, as local Penn State was the only school to get Stewart on campus in recent months. The Nittany Lions have been involved for some time and are seen as the favorite in his recruitment, as least per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, which states Penn State has a 37.5% chance to land the 6-foot, 195 pound junior. Texas A&M is in fourth place per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with an 8.3% chance at the talented safety.

Michigan is another Big Ten schools that’s been involved for some time, as the four-star has been pitched to play a similar role as Dax Hill in the Wolverines’ defense. His relationship with safeties coach Jay Harbaugh is strong as well.

Georgia has made some movement in Stewart’s recruitment since the arrival of defensive backs coach Fran Brown, who moved from Rutgers to Georgia this spring. The four-star has yet to visit Georgia, but that should change in the coming months.

Oregon is set to get the four-star on campus for the first time as well in the coming months. The Ducks have made some movement in Stewart’s recruitment since the arrival of Dan Lanning and the new staff in Eugene. The same can be said for Oklahoma. Stewart was previously high on Clemson, but since Brent Venables and a number of of the Tigers’ staff moved to Oklahoma, the Sooners have essentially taken Clemson’s spot in the four-star’s top six.

The four-star will likely visit all of his top six schools, ahead of a decision expected early in the fall, likely in September or October. Texas A&M has yet to get Stewart back on campus since last summer, but expect that to change at least once this offseason.

Stewart ranks as the No. 234 prospect and No. 20 safety in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The four-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $10.5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
