2023 Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington four-star athlete Micah Tease cut down his list of offers for the first time, and despite only offering in recent weeks, Texas A&M is in the top ten for one of the nation’s best two-way athletes.

In addition to the Aggies, Tease is considering AlabamaOklahomaArkansasUSCMichiganPenn StateLSUNotre Dame and Michigan State.

Of his top ten, there’s a good mix of schools recruiting him as a wide receiver and schools recruiting him at defensive back. The Aggies are pursuing Tease on the defensive side of the ball, as he primarily communicates with defensive backs coach TJ Rushing.

Tease has yet to visit College Station, but plans to change that this summer. Since offering the four-star earlier this month, Texas A&M has been in hot pursuit.

“Texas A&M is another place I want to get to this summer,” He told On3’s Samp Spiegelman. “They’re coming for hard and they have a great track record with DBs, putting guys in the league, and I like Coach (TJ) Rushing.

Along with a planned visit to Texas A&M this summer, Tease already has official visits planned to USC and Notre Dame in June. Lincoln Riley and Alex Grinch were mainstays in Tease’s recruitment while local at Oklahoma, and Donte Williams has injected a lot more enthusiasm into USC’s push. It’s a similar theme to Marcus Freeman, who has been hands-on recruiting Tease, who left with a very high opinion of Notre Dame after a visit there earlier this year.

Texas A&M has two defensive back commits to date in La Grange (Tex.) High four-star Bravion Rogers and Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff four-star Jayvon Thomas. Both Rogers and Thomas have similar traits as Tease, in terms of versatility. Tease stars as a wide reciever on the offensive side of the ball, Thomas has some juice as a running back and Rogers is a do-it-all weapon for La Grange, contributing in all three phases of the game.

In addition to their pursuit of Tease, The Aggies continue to pursue some of the top defensive backs in the country including Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson five-star Tony Mitchell, Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff four-star cornerback Malik Muhammad and Denton (Tex.) Guyer four-star Peyton Bowen, among a number of other prospects on the Aggies’ loaded board at the position.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors Arkansas in Tease’s recruitment, with the Razorbacks holding a 74.6% chance to land the versatile four-star. Tease has taken multiple visits to Fayetteville this spring, including the most recent for the spring game in April.

Tease ranks as the No. 150 prospect and No. 16 cornerback in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks even higher in the On300, as the No. 127 prospect and No.15 cornerback nationally. The four-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $18.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
