Texas A&M OL transfer Colton Thomasson narrows list to Baylor, SMU, UTSA

Texas A&M offensive lineman Colton Thomasson is down to just three schools now when it comes to finding a new home out of the NCAA transfer portal.

The young 6-foot-8, 320-pound offensive lineman announced on his Twitter account that he is now down to Baylor, SMU and UTSA.

“Sincere thanks to the amazing programs offering me an opportunity during my journey,” Thomasson wrote. “I am grateful for these three final schools I will be focusing on moving forward.”

Thomasson spent just one season at Texas A&M, making two appearances during the 2023 campaign as he ultimately took a redshirt. The size alone, of course, makes him a coveted option out of the NCAA transfer portal.

But Thomasson was also a well-thought-of recruit, too.

Prior to enrolling at Texas A&M, Colton Thomasson was ranked as a three-star recruit and the No. 425 overall player in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 31 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 73 overall player in the state of Texas, hailing from Spring Branch (TX) Smithson Valley.

Texas A&M loses offensive lineman to portal

In related news, Texas A&M offensive lineman Bryce Foster has also entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Foster had recently disappeared from the Texas A&M roster, prompting questions about his future with the program. Those questions were answered on Wednesday.

Bryce Foster was the starting center for Texas A&M each of the past three years. He started all 12 games as a freshman in 2021, earning All-American honors.

Foster was the starting center for the first four games of the 2022 season, before being lost for the year with an injury. He started all 12 games he played in last season, while missing one with an injury.
