Texas A&M RB Le'Veon Moss arrested overnight in College Station

Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss was arrested by College Station police around 1 am CT Sunday morning and charged with disorderly conduct, according to KBTX news anchor Rusty Surette.
The College Station PD arrest report obtained by KBTX reveals officers observed Moss threatening a bystander. When they approached, officers joined with Moss’ friends in an effort to halt Moss’ threats to harm the stranger and de-escalate the situation, per Surette, but the Aggie RB continued and was eventually arrested. The police report didn’t reveal what may have provoked Moss, but acknowledged he was seen “speaking aggressively” with others in the area that were speaking to a female companion of Moss. The College Station officers also arrest another member of Moss’ party, Ledarius Jones, for interference with public duties as they were attempting to take Moss into custody, per Surette.
***UPDATE*** – Mike Elko has since released a statement this afternoon regarding Moss’ arrest. “We are aware of the situation regarding Le’Veon Moss and will handle the matter internally,” Elko said.
Moss, a native of Baton Rouge, enters 2025 as the Aggies’ leading returning rusher after racking up 765 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 121 carries even though his season was cut short after just nine games following a season-ending knee injury at South Carolina. Prior to the injury, Moss had topped the 100-yard rushing mark three times through A&M’s first six games last season, averaging nearly 8.5 yards per carry in those three games.
Moss has combined to rush for 1,363 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first three seasons at Texas A&M after signing with the Aggies as a four-star prospect and the No. 86 overall player and No. 3 running back in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Prior to his arrest, Moss was expected to lead a loaded A&M backfield that also includes fellow rising senior Amari Daniels, who added 661 rushing yards and eight touchdowns last season, and rising junior Rueben Owens, who is coming of his own injury last season.

The Aggies enter Year 2 under head coach Mike Elko seaking to build upon last season’s successes, especially given the progress of dual-threat freshman QB Marcel Reed, who ranked third on the team with 543 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground. It’s unclear how Moss’ arrest could impact that progress, but given the crime involved, it’s unlikely to lead to any in-season discipline.
Le’Veon Moss injury cited for Greg McElroy keeping Texas A&M RB off Top 10 list
The Texas A&M Aggies are looking to take a step forward and compete for the College Football Playoff in 2025. A major part of that jump is going to fall on the success of running back Le’Veon Moss.
Moss was one of the best running backs in the country in 2024. Now, he’s looking to improve on that effort. Still, as analyst Greg McElroy explained on Always College Football, he’s not a Top 10 player because of the injury that cut his season short.
“Now, if not for the injury that he sustained against South Carolina last year,” Greg McElroy said. “Le’Veon Moss would have without one doubt whatsoever, he would have 100 percent been in our top 10. He was well on his way to rushing for over 1,000 yards. He had already, at that point, accumulated 760 and 10 touchdowns, averaged six and a half a carry in the SEC.”
