Since walloping LSU at the end of October, Texas A&M has picked up some serious momentum on the recruiting trail, landing a slew of commitments from blue-chip prospects in the 2026 cycle.

While building a stout base to the upcoming class is big for the Aggies, head coach Mike Elko and his staff are still looking to put the finishing touches on a 2025 class that currently ranks No. 9 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, A&M is trending to flip Mesquite (Texas) Horn five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers, a 6-foot-7 Missouri commit.

Since pledging to the Tigers in the summer, Rogers has returned to College Station multiple times. At the beginning of October, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of the Aggies flipping Rogers away from Mizzou. Since then, multiple other predictions across the industry have followed.

“The Aggies have continued to chip away, what they are doing on the field this season has (Rogers’) attention and a visit for the Texas game in late in November could be big with Signing Day right around the corner,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote on Oct. 31.

The recent five-star is one of two in the mix for Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers this cycle. Mizzou is doing all it can to keep the Lone Star State standout in the class with the Early Signing Period right around the corner, though the arrows look to be pointing toward College Station this fall.

Rogers is the No. 29 overall prospect and No. 5 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Texas.

Aggies looking to bring in loaded OL class

Texas A&M already has six in-state commitments on the offensive line this cycle: Midlothian four-star IOL Nelson McGuire, Denton Ryan four-star IOL Marcus Garcia, Cypress Bridgeland four-star OT Jonte Newman, Prosper three-star IOL Connor Carty, Dickinson three-star IOL Tyler Thomas and Spring Legacy three-star IOL Joshua Moses.

Rogers is a numbers-buster, though. Adding the 300-pounder to the pledge list remains a top priority for the A&M staff down the stretch. A&M’s class features 22 total commits and ranks No. 7 in the SEC.

If Rogers were to flip, he would be the second five-star in A&M’s class, flanking Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet. The Golden State signal-caller is one of six top-150 prospects in the class.
