Texas A&M vs. Tennessee odds: Early point spread released on Aggies, Volunteers
Tennessee has claimed the early point spread against Texas A&M this Saturday, opening as a 3.5-point favorite ahead of the Week 7 matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under total is set at 57.5 total points.
Despite enjoying their bye during Week 6, the Volunteers enter Aggie game week on a high, riding into game week following a decisive 41-20 win over South Carolina at home. The Aggies weren’t so lucky during their most recent home stand this past Saturday, allowing Alabama slip through College Station with a 26-20 loss.
Texas A&M had its opportunities to take control of the game in the second half leading 17-10, but two unanswered scoring drives from the Crimson Tide offense during the third quarter proved too much for Jimbo Fisher’s squad to overcome. A safety in the fourth quarter sealed the deal and the Crimson Tide eventually won 26-20 — and covered their 2.5-point spread.
Quarterback Max Johnson made his second start of the season for Texas A&M, completing a serviceable 14 of 25 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown and an interception. He was sacked five times during the contest.
The Vols have a lot more to be excited about while they were off, having won its second game after dropping their Week 3 matchup to Florida 29-16. Ever since the loss, they’ve scored 86 points compared to allowing 34 points on defense against UTSA and South Carolina, respectively. More importantly — they covered the spread in both of those games.

Tennessee’s balanced attack featured a 239-yard passing performance from quarterback Joe Milton, while the rushing game contributed 238 yards and three touchdowns from three different tailbacks. Milton had two interceptions during the matchup, bringing his total to three on the season after a mostly clean start to the year.
The defense held Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler to 169 passing yards and an interception, which was a pick-six from Vols defensive back Kamal Hadden. The Tennessee pass rush contributed six total sacks on the day, including two from James Pearce Jr., and eight collective tackles for loss.
Texas A&M has also had some luck against the spread this season, going 4-2 to reflect their season record. Both losses against Miami and Alabama, respectively, saw the opposing team cover while the Aggies were felt licking their wounds.
Opening kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday afternoon inside Neyland Stadium. The television designation has not been announced as of this report.
