Baylor, Texas have fared differently in recent weeks
Baylor sat at the top of most college basketball rankings for a while earlier in the season. But as of late, the Bears have stumbled. Baylor suffered two losses to Texas Tech and Oklahoma State in the middle of January. The Bears have also lost two of their previous four games, falling to Alabama and Kansas. Entering Saturday’s game against Texas, Baylor is 20-4 and 8-3 in Big 12 play.
Texas, on the other hand, has played well of late. The Longhorns started the year 12-2, but then lost three out of four to fall to 13-5. Since then, though, Texas has won five out of six, including a big win on Monday at home against No. 8 Kansas. Texas beat Kansas 79-76, resulting in Longhorns fans storming the court. The court storming resulted in a hefty $25,000 fine from the Big 12.
Baylor enters Saturday’s game ranked No. 10 in the latest AP Poll, while Texas comes in at No. 20.
