Four-star defensive lineman Bear Alexander of Fort Worth (Texas) Brewer told On3 he has narrowed his list to Georgia and Texas A&M.

Alexander, who is 6-foot-3 and 320-pounds, narrowed his choices to the Dawgs and Aggies from his list of more than 30 scholarship offers

Bear Alexander, who ranks as the No. 32 player in the On300 and No. 7 defensive lineman in the country, was formerly committed to Georgia before opening his recruitment back up in early June.

This summer, Alexander visited Miami, Alabama, Texas and others, but Georgia and Texas A&M are the two that stood out.

“Both are SEC programs,” Bear Alexander said. “How can I go wrong there? Both Georgia and Texas A&M are good programs that are run under good coaches.”

In 2020, Alexander missed the first half of the regular season because of transfer rules, but he helped Denton Ryan to an undefeated season and the Texas 5A D-I state title.

As a sophomore, he played at Dallas Skyline, and he was at Terrell Texas as a freshman. During that freshman season, he was named the District 8 5A II defensive newcomer of the year.

“Alexander has a terrific frame for an interior defensive line prospect,” On3 national analyst Gerry Hamilton said. “Big-bodied with high-end first-step quickness and reactive quickness at his size. Broad shoulders and very strong lower body are accompanied by an 81-inch wingspan and 10-inch hands.

“Developed technically playing for a terrific Denton Ryan coaching staff as a junior. Initial pop jolts offensive linemen on the high school level. Regularly beats double-teams with quickness or a powerful bull rush. Can occupy two blockers, and still push the pocket.”
