Texas continues to trend in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley four-star offensive tackle John Turntine, the No. 1 player in the Lone Star State in the 2026 cycle.

The Longhorns continue to get the 6-foot-3.5, 305-pounder on campus and have looked like the team to beat in his recruitment up to this point. On Wednesday, touted Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood was at North Crowley visiting the elite trench monster:

Turntine is expected back in Austin this weekend for the Longhorns’ loaded junior day. He’ll be alongside many of the other top players in the state, as well as Texas’ prized 2026 five-star quarterback commit Dia Bell.

“Texas has everything you could want—academics, city life, and a football program that’s ready to take off,” Turntine told InsideTexas after a visit this fall.

Earlier this month, Turntine took the next step in his process, telling On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s now down to 10 schools. Texas is one of three in-state teams still in the running for his pledge, alongside SMU and Texas A&M. The likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and Oregon also made the cut.

The potential five-star helped guide North Crowley to an undefeated 16-0 season in 2024 that culminated with a 6A-Division I state title last month. The Panthers finished as the No. 2 team in the nation, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.

Turntine is the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 3 OT in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks No. 15 overall in the On300.

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $357K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The Longhorns currently have a pair of commits in their 2026 class. Bell, No. 13 recruit and No. 4 QB in the nation, pledged in June. In-state four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart joined the fold just eight days after Bell.

“They make me feel like I am home there,” Bell recently said of Texas to On3. “Those are two guys I love and I would love to be coached by. They are great to talk to, they are great coaches and those two are probably the biggest reason why I am strong with my commitment to Texas.”
