More on Texas vs. Kansas
Texas knocked off Kansas State coming into this game, in what head coach Rodney Terry called one of the best games of his career.
“This is one of the best wins I’ve been apart of,” Terry said. “I’ve been doing division one for a long time and coaching for 30-plus years. This is a great win tonight. I’ve been in this league for 13 years and never really had a chance where played a Saturday and then a big Monday on the road. Usually you’ll be back at home. It’s kind of the way it fell this time, we weren’t complaining about it. We were gonna get a chance to have two great opportunities to play two great teams in great atmospheres.”

Terry opened up about going on the road against teams like Kansas State and Kansas. It’s a big challenge, but one the Longhorns proved they were ready for this year.
“Well-coached teams on their home court so we look at it again as an opportunity for us,” Terry said. “40 minutes by 40 minutes, we haven’t even really thought about Kansas, we had a really, really difficult task here at hand to deal with Kansas State on their home court first. We’ll enjoy this for one night.
“Our coaching staff will do a great job preparing our guys for the next game at Kansas on Monday night but it is unique, it’s one that I’ve never really been apart of in 13 years. We’re just excited about this month. The good Lord gives us an opportunity everyday to do what we love to do. Myself, a passion to coach, our players to play, get a great education at an incredible institution. So life’s good, we have no complaints.”
Meanwhile, Kansas beat Kentucky and Kansas State going into Saturday. However, the Jayhawks were upset by Iowa State and look for a bounce back win against Texas.
