Report: Texas passing game coordinator Brennan Marion to be named UNLV coordinator
UNLV has reportedly landed Texas passing game coordinator Brennan Marion as its new offensive coordinator.
On Sunday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic took to Twitter to report that Marion is joining the Rebels’ staff. “SOURCE: Texas passing game coordinator Brennan Marion is expected to become the new offensive coordinator at UNLV,” tweeted Feldman. “He’s been a prolific OC with his ‘Go-Go’ offenses previously at William & Mary and at Howard.”
Marion is joining the staff of new coach Barry Odom, who was Arkansas‘ defensive coordinator when he was hired by UNLV. Bobby Petrino had taken the UNLV offensive coordinator job. But after three weeks in the role, he left for Texas A&M.
Odom then pivoted to Brennan Marion to help usher in a new era in Las Vegas.
More on UNLV Rebels, Barry Odom
Odom became the 13th head coach in the history of UNLV, replacing Marcus Arroyo in December.
“My family and I would like to thank President Whitfield, Athletics Director Erick Harper, and the administrative team for the opportunity to be the head football coach of the UNLV Rebels,” Odom said in a statement. “I’m honored and excited to begin developing a relationship with our student-athletes and provide them a great foundation for success in every area of their lives.

“I believe in the vision and plan that President Whitfield and Mr. Harper have for the UNLV Athletics Department. That alignment piece is critical and together we will achieve great success. This city is founded on opportunity and we look forward to this opportunity to lead this program and engage with this amazing community and Rebels everywhere.”
Arkansas coach Sam Pittman made Odom one of his first hires when he took over in 2020.
UNLV has had nine consecutive losing seasons with three different head coaches in that span. Odom will be looking for better results as he takes his SEC experience to Vegas.
