Woods played high school football at Clear Springs High School in League City, TX, where he was a three-star prospect with a grade of 80.5. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he was the No. 1891 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, No. 134 among running backs, and No. 270 among recruits coming out of the state of Texas in that cycle.

Woods is repped by the A&P Agency. He spent the past two seasons with the Longhorns. In that time, he appeared in three games, all of which came last fall, and all of his work came on special teams. However, instead of entering his junior year in Austin, Woods will do so in Reno, NV.
