Texas transfer Terrance Brooks set to take visit to USC
Former Texas Longhorns cornerback Terrence Brooks is still attempting to figure out where he will play college football next season. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the USC Trojans are a potential suitor on his list. On Saturday, sources revealed to On3 that Brooks will head to Los Angeles, CA, to visit with USC and their head coach, Lincoln Riley, next weekend.
So far, the sophomore has visited a handful of teams, including the Big Ten’s Illinois Fighting Illini. However, Illinois and USC are not the only Big Ten teams looking to bolster their defense the secondary by adding Brooks. He is also scheduled to visit the Michigan Wolverines next weekend as well.
After arriving in the class of 2022, Terrance Brooks was immediately a key contributor for the Longhorns. As a true freshman, he played in nine games, making three starts for Texas. Brooks would finish the season with nine tackles and three pass breakups. As a sophomore, Brooks would have a breakout year, earning Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors after playing in 14 games and making 13 starts.
Brooks was among the nation’s top recruits in his class following an impressive high school career at Little Elm High School in Little Elm, TX, a part of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. As a Lobo, he will become an elite four-star recruit with a 95.9 rating. Brooks was a top 100 recruit during the 2022 cycle, ranking No. 56 nationally and No. 7 at cornerback. He was the 9th-rated player from Texas in his class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Former Nebraska QB leaves Big Ten for Big 12 newcomer
A few weeks ago, there was some chatter that Nebraska transfer quarterback Jeff Sims would end up at Arizona State. Well on Saturday afternoon, the dual-threat quarterback made it official, committing to the ASU Sun Devils on his Twitter page.
May 1st was when the chatter began about Sims’ potential destination likely being Arizona State.
“The current expectation is that ex-Nebraska and Georgia Tech QB Jeff Sims is going to end up at Arizona State, sources tell @ChrisKarpman and me for @247Sports,” Zenitz said via X.
In five games with the Huskers last season, two of which were starts, Sims threw for 282 yards, one touchdown, and six interceptions while completing 59.6% of his throws. Sims was a little better on the ground with 189 yards and a touchdown on 42 carries.
