Winning coach of Texas-Oklahoma set to have first-ever Fletcher’s Corny Dog
Somehow, the two most important people involved in the Texas-Oklahoma rivalry have not had a staple food of the State Fair of Texas. Neither Sarkisian nor Brent Venables has eaten a Fletcher’s Corny Dog during their respective time with the two programs.
Venables revealed as such when speaking on Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference but promised to consume one if Oklahoma took Texas down.

“My body might shut down with one of those fried corn dogs,” Venables said. “We get a W, I’m going to have one.”
Sarkisian followed up later in the call, being in the same boat as Venables. He had never had a corny dog either but if Texas ends up winning on Saturday, Sarkisian will try to find one.
“I have not enjoyed a corny dog,” Sarkisian said. “I have not had a chance to partake in the State Fair but I know it’s a great time… Maybe if we win, I’ll try to find a corny dog or something.”
