Texas vs. Purdue Preview
Texas bounced back from its early Big 12 Tournament exit with an 81-73 win over the ACC Tournament champion Virginia Tech. All five Longhorn starters scored in double figures and were led by Andrew Jones‘ 21 points thanks to five made 3-pointers. Marcus Carr also scored 15 points while notching nine assists on 34 minutes played.
Purdue on the other hand blew out a formidable Yale squad that had just won the Ivy League. Jaden Ivey continued to look like one of the nation’s best guards with 22 points while 7-foot-4 center Zach Edey asserted his post presence with 16 points and nine rebounds. Trevion Williams scored eight points and 10 rebounds off the bench as well.
The winner will face the unlikely Cinderella of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, Saint Peter’s in the Sweet 16 on Friday in Philadelphia.
