What I learned from the 2022 Wootten Top 150 Camp
Mansfield, Texas – I was in Texas for just over 24 hours; it was a quick turnaround to see players from across the country at the 2022 Wootten Elite Camp.
Five-star Ron Holland was the Wootten one-on-one competition champion. The undecided, 6-foot-8 wing forward used his length and motor to create issues and made just enough shots to outlast the field.
Here are some other takeaways from the two-day period.
5-star SG JaKobe Walter (Baylor)
There was not a shot that Ja’Kobe Walter did not look comfortable taking and making on the weekend. The 6-foot-5 guard has shown a consistent outlook in every setting I have seen him in over the past year. Walter can create his own shot and can get his shoulders squared, getting into his shot from multiple angles. One-on-one, three-on-three, or full game, the shot-making was consistent…again.
Three-star SG Finley Bizjak (Butler)
Finley Bizjak was an offensive force throughout camp. More than just a spot shooter, Bizjak was consistent in getting to his spots off two and three dribbles in the half-court. He also made it to the finals of the camp-wide one-on-one competition. Bizjak plays with confidence, a swagger that shows the second he steps on the floor.
4-star SF Annor Boateng
Annor Boateng is a class of 2024 wing who, for my money, was the best perimeter defender in the camp. At 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, he has long arms and a tough demeanor that simply made plays. Offensively, there is not much Boateng did not do as well. He can handle, shoot, and pass all in the half-court and get on the rim in transition. Boateng continues to develop into one of the best in his class.

4-star PG Aden Holloway (Auburn)
It was the three-on-three play where Aden Holloway really shined. The Auburn commit is as crafty a high school ball handler as you will find. He is a knockdown shooter with deep range and a quick release. When he is forced to play within three dribbles, he was able to get to his spots and make consistent plays.
4-star SG Kaden Cooper
This type of setting is where Kaden Cooper really shines. For my money, Cooper was the most explosively athletic player in attendance, and he let that shine at every opportunity. While the dunks were impressive, his shooting looks improved. Cooper knocked down multiple catch-and-shoot threes and some nice two-dibble pull-ups going left. The 6-foot-5 wing is still uncommitted but will look to have a decision later this month.
4-star PF Sam Walters (Alabama)
Sam Walters continues to make a difference at these national events. The 6-foot-9 forward is very skilled. He has great length and ball skills to push the break. He also made the majority of the threes he took on the weekend. Walters is a connective player who fits perfectly with the up-tempo style Nate Oats has at Alabama.
