The 5-star recruits in the updated On3 Industry Rankings
Following the latest rankings releases from other recruiting services, the On3 Industry Ranking has updated and features three new five-star prospects.
As the cycle progress forward, the number of five-stars in the On3 Industry Ranking increases as scouts in the industry have more data, information and scouting opportunities to evaluate better and project prospects. The On3 Industry Ranking currently features 25 5-stars, but will ultimately end with 32 to reflect the numbers of players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. It is also the industry’s most advanced, complete and unbiased measurement.
It weights the primary recruiting media services based on past performance data, and overall scouting and recruiting coverage investment. For football, the algorithm is weighted as follows: On3 (35%), 247Sports (35%), Rivals.com (20%) and ESPN (10%).
After the latest updates, including a new rankings release from 247Sports, those 25 prospects are listed below:
1. Five-Star Plus+ QB Dylan Raiola
School: Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle
Status: Committed to Georgia
Previous Ranking: No. 1
On3 NIL Valuation: $879K
Expert’s take: “Dylan Raiola has long been the top prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking since On3 was the first outlet to make him the No. 1 overall prospect in our initial On300 release last year. Though he now currently sits at No. 6 and On300 after an up-and-down junior season, we still feel that he’s one of the top arm talents in the country. This 2024 quarterback cycle is not overly strong relative to past cycles so, I still think it’s relatively up in the air how things shake out at the quarterback position and with Dylan Raiola, but we still contend that he’s a top arm talent. We’re looking forward to seeing how he plays as a senior and seeing if he can regain the form that he showed as a sophomore.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
2. Five-Star Plus+ WR Jeremiah Smith
School: Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep
Status: Committed to Ohio State
Previous Ranking: No. 2
On3 NIL Valuation: $457K
Expert’s Take: “Jeremiah Smith is one of the top overall receiver prospects in several cycles and, and probably the top receiver prospects from South Florida in many years. His combination of size and skill level with his route running and ball skills is relatively unique for a rising senior in high school. Very technical, he’s a guy who can stack corners off the line and makes big time plays at the catch point.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
3. 5-star Plus+ DL Williams Nwaneri
School: Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 79.9%, Missouri 4.3%, Tennessee 2.8%, Oregon 2.3%
Previous Ranking: No. 6
On3 NIL Valuation: $314K
Expert’s Take: “Williams Nwaneri I think is the most physically gifted five star prospect regardless of position. He just has a huge frame at 6-foot-6 plus and over 250 pounds with very long arms. I believe his arms are probably over 36 inches based off some measurements we have to go along with 11 inch hands and is highly athletic. This is a guy who ran a sub five second 40 on the laser as a rising junior so really impressive physically and he started to put together on the field as well on Friday nights. He had 12 sacks and 22 tackles for a loss on a team that made the state championship game as a junior. He started to put it together in his upside as an interior pass rusher you could argue as high as anybody in this cycle.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
4. Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Colin Simmons
School: Duncanville (Texas)
On3 RPM: LSU 44.2%, Texas 23.6%, Georgia 15.0%, Alabama 13.2%
Previous Ranking: No. 3
On3 NIL Valuation: $416K
Expert’s Take: “I think Colin Simmons has an argument to have put together the best junior season of any defender in the 2024 cycle. He had a phenomenal junior season at Duncanville helping that school win a state championship. He basically took over the state championship game in Texas’ highest classification. He’s a fast pass rusher off the edge with very good bend and phenomenal instincts. He breaks up a lot of passes and, and makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
5. Five-Star Plus+ safety KJ Bolden
School: Buford (Ga.)
On3 RPM: Georgia 61.8%, Clemson 8.7%, Alabama 6.9%, Ohio State 5.3%,
Previous Ranking: No. 4
On3 NIL Valuation: $423K
Expert’s Take: “KJ Bolden is a big versatile athlete who could play on both sides of the ball in college. Some schools are talking to him about potentially playing offense as well. We see his upside to be a good bit higher on defense and he most likely projects at safety on defense. The size and speed combination at over 6-foot-0 and probably about 190 pounds, he can run really well. He can run with receivers and could play corner if pressed into that with his coverage ability and he’s also instinctive and physical as a safety.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
6. Five-Star Plus+ WR Micah Hudson
School: Temple (Texas) Lake Belton
On3 RPM: Texas 49.7%, Texas Tech 43.5%
Previous Ranking: No. 4
On3 NIL Valuation: $377K
Expert’s Take: “Micah Hudson is just a dynamic three-phase receiver. He’s a guy who makes plays with the ball in his hands, he can win at the catch point and he’s also a very good route runner. You can get him the ball in a variety of ways. You see his high school team, they line him up at running back even. He’s got more of a compact build than a lot of the other top receivers in his class. From a body type perspective might remind you a little bit of a Jamar Chase, but he is very explosive and had a really good junior season.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
7. 5-star EDGE Dylan Stewart
School: Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy
On3 RPM: Ohio State 43.3%, Alabama 37.9%, South Carolina 4.8%
Previous Ranking: No. 9
On3 NIL Valuation: $320K
Expert’s Take: “With Dylan Stewart, it’s all about the projectable physical tools and what he’s shown so far throughout his high school career on the field. He’s 6-foot-5, 230-plus, has plus-length and is a very good athlete. He ran in the 4.6’s prior to his sophomore season and I think there’s a very good chance he’s gotten faster since then. He can bend off the edge, he’s explosive, he’s productive as a junior as well with 16 sacks. In a year where there’s not at this point, a slam book No. 1 and the quarterback cycle is a little down, we like Dylan Stewart as the highest upside pass rusher in this group at a premium position.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
8. 5-star CB Ellis Robinson IV
School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
Status: Committed to Georgia
Previous Ranking: No. 7
On3 NIL Valuation: $371K
Expert’s Take: “Ellis Robinson is the top corner in this cycle, in our opinion by a fair margin and it has been really since the fall. He has phenomenal length and and really showed continued coverage polish since transferring to IMG for his junior season. There’s really good feet to go with the length as well and has very good ball skills as a former receiver. He kind of has the total package at corner with his physical gifts and technical ability.“ — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
9. 5-star DL Justin Scott
School: Chicago (Ill.) St. Ignatius
On3 RPM: Miami 69.8%, Notre Dame 20.2%, Georgia 6.3%
Previous Ranking: No. 8
On3 NIL Valuation: $312K
Expert’s Take: “Justin Scott has long been highly ranked by On3. I think we could look up and see Justin Scott as the top defensive lineman in this cycle or the top offensive lineman. I think that’s something that’s probably not talked about enough is how good he is on both sides of the ball. You see that on defense where he’s able to run sideline to sideline and chase down ball carriers in pursuit. On the offensive line he’s completely dominant. He’s very strong at the point of attack and has outstanding athleticism for the position. So there are multiple avenues for Justin Scott to be a big time player at the next level.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
10. 5-star WR Cam Coleman
School: Phenix City (Ala.) Central
On3 RPM: Auburn 80.3%, Clemson 5.1%, LSU 4.4%
Previous Ranking: No. 25
On3 NIL Valuation: $207K
Expert’s Take: “Cam Coleman’s a twitched-up receiver with projectable size and length who is arguably the most physically-gifted pass catcher in the 2024 cycle. Projects as a dynamic X wide receiver. Measured in at 6-foot-3.5, 185 pounds with a 33.5-inch arm in the spring prior to his senior season. Tested as a rare athlete at Under Armour’s Atlanta camp, running an electronically-timed 4.46 second 40-yard dash, a 4.19 second short shuttle along with a 10’8” broad jump. Pairs his athleticism and length to result in a large catch radius. Shows the ability to make acrobatic grabs in contested situations. Adjusts to low and wide throws. Flashed a relatively advanced release package off the line of scrimmage in the camp setting along with the burst and long-speed to separate on Friday nights. Has shown several signs of a very high developmental upside along with a rapid spike in his development over the course of his junior year.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
11. 5-star DL David Stone
School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 80.6%, Michigan State 15.0%
Previous Ranking: No. 11
On3 NIL Valuation: $286K
Expert’s Take: “David Stone has long been one of the top defensive lineman in the cycle. I think David Stone is his high-end combination of first step quickness and length and is very disruptive. We had to see him make some plays against top flight competition as a junior at IMG Academy.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
12. 5-star WR Mike Matthews
School: Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview
On3 RPM: Clemson 30.6%, Georgia 23.4%, Tennessee 17.3%, USC 9.7%
Previous Ranking: No. 10
On3 NIL Valuation: $319K
Expert’s Take: “Mike Matthews is an all-around receiver. He doubles as a basketball star and you can see those skills transfer over to the field on Friday night. Matthews was initially was viewed more as a safety prospect but blossomed into a receiver over the past year,. He really impressed us in the 7-on-7 circuit prior to his junior season and had a good junior year as well. He’s more athletic than you would think. He ran a sub 4.5 5 on the laser recently so he tests well in the combine setting in addition to making plays on Friday nights.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
13. 5-star LB Justin Williams
School: Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge
On3 RPM: Oregon 97.9%
Previous Ranking: No. 12
On3 NIL Valuation: $268K
Expert’s Take: “Justin Williams is the modern prototype for inside linebackers. A long and rangy player who can stack and shed incoming blockers but makes his money bringing down ball players from sideline to sideline and in the backfield with his elite first step and ability to close. He measures in at nearly 6-foot-2, 205 pounds with a 6-foot-5 wingspan. Ran an absurd electronically-timed 4.44 40-yard dash, 4.39 short shuttle and jumped a 9-foot-10 broad jump during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. He has the all the physical tools and athletic ability to be an immediate contributor at the next level. He’ll need to add some mass to his frame but should maintain top-tier athletic ability as he physically develops.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

14. 5-star ATH Jaylen Mbakwe
School: Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville
Status: Committed to Alabama
Previous Ranking: No. 17
On3 NIL Valuation: $275K
Expert’s Take: “Jaylen Mbawke is is a dynamic athlete as a two way player in the Birmingham area. Starting off you have to begin with play speed. This is the guy who ran 10.7 as a sophomore and he plays to that level on the field on Friday nights. He really primarily played mostly as a receiver as a junior but I think he more than likely projects as a corner long term. He did not play a ton of defense as a junior but has the high end athleticism and ball skills to be a top flight corner. That’s why he ranked as an athlete but we really like the athletic upside and there’s multiple positions he can play at the next level.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
15. 5-star WR Mylan Graham
School: New Haven (Ind.)
Status: Committed to Ohio State
Previous Ranking: No. 13
On3 NIL Valuation: $308K
Expert’s Take: “Mylan Graham, in my opinion, has a strong case as the best route runner in this cycle. Graham is a receiver who can really separate with his routes and change of direction. He had a big junior season going for over 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 48 catches. I think he’s got more of a slender build and really on film just stylistically will remind you a little bit of DeVonta Smith just with how he’s able to break off defensive backs with his route running and also make plays at the catch point.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
16. 5-star QB Julian Sayin
School: Carlsbad (Calif.)
Status: Committed to Alabama
Previous Ranking: No. 14
On3 NIL Valuation: $671K
Expert’s Take: “Julian Sayin, for my money, is the most accurate quarterback in the 2024 cycle. When you look at just how clean he is mechanically, the ball placement is easily released, the throwing motion I think if you’re going for the highest floor for a quarterback prospect in this cycle, I’m picking Sayin. He doesn’t have the biggest frame, and I think he needs to continue to add some weight. It remains to be seen how big he’s going to get long term, but just in terms of the overall polish, pure passing ability, how he can throw a touch, locate the football, throw to spots in the field and really stick the ball and on, on his receivers consistently, I think all of those traits and skills make Julian Sayin one of the top quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
17. 5-star athlete Terry Bussey
School: Timpson (Texas)
On3 RPM: Texas A&M 90.7%
Previous Ranking: No. 30
On3 NIL Valuation: $189K
Expert’s Take: “Terry Bussey is an East Texas all-around monster of a football player who plays all over the field. Will line up at quarterback and gash defenses with his legs. At safety he can cover sideline to sideline as well as stick his face into traffic as a run defender. Sticky in coverage as a corner. Tracks the ball naturally as a wide receiver and makes defenders miss in a phone booth in the return game. But the thing that jumps off the screen most is his natural athleticism. Stands in at just over 5-foot-10, 180 pounds with a 6-foot-2 wingspan. Ran a 4.42 electronically-timed 40-yard dash during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Also jumped a 30-inch vertical, a 9-foot-5 broad jump and ran a 4.32 short shuttle at the same event. Jumped 45 feet in the triple jump and ran a 22.61 200m during his junior track and field season. Rare combination of top-tier explosiveness and fluidity. Strong basketball player averaging 19.6 points per game as well as 7 rebounds per game. Has all the athletic tools to excel at the next level and beyond on either side of the ball. More natural fit seems to be corner due to lack of true high-point ability due to size and rare fluidity combined with his top-end speed. Named 2022 Mr. Texas Football after his junior season. One of the youngest prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle, should technically be in the 2025 recruiting class. — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
18. 5-star WR Bryant Wesco
School: Midlothian (Texas)
Status: Committed to Clemson
Previous Ranking: No. 31
On3 NIL Valuation: $189K
Expert’s Take: “Bryant Wesco is a silky smooth route runner who can win at every level of the field due to his fluidity and explosiveness. Long and leaner athletic frame who will add substantial weight as he physically develops. Stands in at 6-foot-2, nearly 170 pounds with a 6-foot-3 wingspan. Jumped an impressive 36-inch vertical, ran a 4.55 electronically-timed 40-yard dash and a 4.23 short shuttle during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Displays his explosiveness in track and field as well having jumped a 6-foot-6 high during his junior track and field season. Strong hands catcher who can play above the rim and high point the football with ease. Has positional versatility who can line up at the X, Z or inside at the slot. Lacks ideal length but still possesses a strong catch radius due to his ability to pluck the ball away from his frame. High floor prospect who will walk into an integral offensive role early at the next level.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
19. 5-star LB Sammy Brown
School: Jefferson (Ga.)
Status: Committed to Clemson
Previous Ranking: No. 16
On3 NIL Valuation: $257K
Expert’s Take: “Sammy Brown is a phenomenal athlete at linebacker. He is a two-way playmaker who ran for over 1,400 yards in 21 touchdowns at running back and I think has the ability to play running back in college if he wanted to. He also had over 100 tackles on defense. He’s got really good size and his speed is outstanding for a linebacker. He runs in 10.7’s in the 100-meter while being a state champion wrestler so his athletic profile is as strong as you will find for anybody in the 2024 cycle. I think he’s still a little bit of a projection at linebacker and, he’s gonna need to continue to work on his instincts, but the pure physical tools and just how progressed he is athletically and physically, make him a standout at the position.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
20. 5-star EDGE Eddrick Houston
School: Buford (Ga.)
On3 RPM: Ohio State 74.6%, Georgia 9%, Clemson 3.5%, Alabama 2.9%
Previous Ranking: No. 15
On3 NIL Valuation: $258K
Expert’s Take: “Eddrick Houston is just a bull in a China shop. He is a very powerful defensive lineman who could play end in certain fronts and could be a five technique long term. He’s very strong and a guy who’s put on a good bit of weight over the last year and has continued to fill out. He’s a strong wrestler as well, so a guy who is at his best as a straight ahead bull rusher and run defender.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
21. 5-star OT Brandon Baker
School: Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
On3 RPM: Oregon 84.6%, USC 4.9%, Georgia 2.4%
Previous Ranking: No. 26
On3 NIL Valuation: $188K
Expert’s Take: “Brandon Baker is a high floor offensive tackle who is battle tested against top competition while playing at one of the nation’s top high school programs. Measured at close to 6-foot-5, 285 pounds as a junior. Has good length for the position with a 6-foot-11 wing-span. Tests as a solid athlete in the combine setting with a 4.86 second short shuttle. Lines up at right tackle for powerhouse program Mater Dei. Technically advanced and proficient as a run blocker. Understands technique, angles and hand placement. Shows developed footwork as a puller when working to the second level. Keeps his feet moving and uses his size and strength to create a push. Further along as a run blocker than pass protector at this stage but has the ability to improve on that front. Not overly flashy from an athletic standpoint and can continue to improve his lower body flexibility. Projects as a steady, safe offensive tackle prospect who could potentially play multiple spots on an offensive line.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
22. 5-star CB Kobe Black
School: Waco (Texas) Connally
On3 RPM: Texas 89.1%, Texas A&M 3.8%,
Previous Ranking: No. 18
On3 NIL Valuation: $242K
Expert’s Take: “Kobe Black is a big defensive back who at this point most likely projects as a boundary corner at the next level or could potentially grow into a safety. He’s quicker than fast, he’s physical, has good ball skills and is a guy who makes plays in multiple facets. Also a basketball player, I think there’s a lot to like with what he brings to the table.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
23. 5-star CB Charles Lester III
School: Sarasota (Fla.) Riverview
On3 RPM: Florida State 91.7%, Georgia 2.1%
Previous Ranking: No. 19
On3 NIL Valuation: $259K
Expert’s Take: “Charles Lester III, is a two-way playmaker in high school who projects as a corner long-term. He has very good length and I think the combination of length and ball skills and the feet he shows on Friday night really sticks out to us. He’s part of a strong corner group in the 2024 cycle and it really stands out with just his overall playmaking ability.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
24. 5-star DL Dominick McKinley
School: Lafayette (La.) Acadiana
On3 RPM: LSU 82.5%, Texas A&M 4.8%, Texas 4.1%, Oklahoma 3.4%
Previous Ranking: No. 19
On3 NIL Valuation: $229K
Expert’s Take: “Dominick McKinley was a huge upper-mover for On3 debuting in the top-20 overall and now he’s a five-star in the On3 Industry Rankings. He measured at 6-foot-5 over 280 pounds prior to his junior season. He’s got 34 and half inch arms, 10 inch hands and really had a strong junior season with 10 sacks and 18 tackles for loss. I think when you look at Dominic Mckinley, his ability to use his length to disengage as a run defender and just the physicality he plays with in addition to athleticism and the big frame and continued room for growth, I think is very encouraging.” — On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power
25. 5-star TE Landen Thomas
School: Moultrie (Ga.)
Status: Committed to Florida State
Previous Ranking: No. 20
On3 NIL Valuation: $265K
Expert’s Take: “Easily one of the most fluid movers in the entire 2024 cycle, Landen Thomas has delicious movement skills that are rare for the tight end position. His ability to maneuver in and out of his routes with loose hips and buttery cuts is top tier amongst all pass catchers. Stands in at nearly 6-foot-4, 240 pounds with over a 6-foot-6 wingspan. Can win at all levels on the field including vertically up the seam. Shows impressive flashes of acrobatic catch ability and a wide catch radius. Has some focus drops that he can clean up but has plus ball skills. Willing blocker but not a hammer in the run game. Can function as an in-line Y but not his wheelhouse. Will be an extremely reliable target at the next level and will constantly work himself open. One of the safest players in the country with top 100 NFL draft potential.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
