The McDonald’s All-American game committee announced the roster today. After a two-year hiatus, the nation’s most prestigious game is back on for March 29 in Chicago.

The roster consists of 24 players from around the country. On3 Sports goes through the rosters to see where the players are going, where they are coming from, and where the players landed in the On3 Consensus, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services.

Where are they ranked?

-18 of the top 20 players in the On3 Consensus made the McDonald’s All-American game. The two who did not, Kyle Filipowski and Yohan Traore, were considered fifth-year players by the game committee. So all eligible players in the On3 Consensus top 20 made the game.

-The lowest-ranked player is On3 Consensus No. 36 Kijani Wright.

-Other players outside of the On3 Consensus top 20; No. 23 Jaden Bradley, No. 24 Ernest Udeh, Jr., No. 25 MJ Rice, No. 28 JJ Starling, and No. 30 Cam Whitmore

Where do they come from?

-Players in the 2022 McDonald’s All-American game come from 12 different states

-Florida led the way with six players attending school in their state. California was next with four, and Texas had three. Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas each had two players selected. Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Maryland had one player selected.

-Bradenton (Fl.) IMG Academy had the most players make the game with three. Branson (Mo.) Link Academy, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon, Montverde (Fl.) Academy, Little Rock (Ark.) North, Bel Aire (Ks.) Sunrise Christian, and Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep each had two players make the game.

Where did they play?

-Nike led the way with 12 players on the McDonald’s All-American game roster who participated on their circuit.

-Adidas had six participated on their circuit and Under Armour had five.

-Anthony Black was the only player chosen who played with an independent program.

Where are they going?

-Duke and Kansas each lead the way with three McDonald’s All-American game participants signed. Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, and UCLA have two signees participating.

-The SEC has the most incoming signees with seven. The Big 12 has six. ACC and Pac-12 each have four. The American and Big East each have one player on the roster signed. The Big Ten had no signees in the game

-Anthony Black of Duncanville (Tx) High is the lone uncommitted player in the game.
