On Monday, On3 updated its class of 2026 player rankings for the sixth time. This is the fourth update for the 2026 class with a full allotment of 150 players. The movement and additions are based on two key sources: 1) in-person player evaluations from the end of the high school season and early parts of the travel season, and 2) film study and intel gathered on prospects since the previous update.

Updated 2026 On3 150 player rankings

Since this cycle’s last update, in April, the On3 team has attended numerous independent and shoe circuit-sponsored travel tournaments, along with practices, scrimmages, and jamborees. With multiple events taking place every week(end), On3 has also collected streams and film to comb through for the maximum exposure of countless events and players.

The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel seasons, before their sophomore years of high school. Each recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.

We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2026 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in 19 players making their debuts in the latest On3 150 update. We have also continued collecting viewings and data on the previously ranked players, putting eyes on them since the previous update.

These prospects have completed their junior seasons of high school and are approximately halfway through their final summer of travel ball. Our next class update for 2026 will be released after the travel season concludes, well before the start of their senior high school season.

The goal of rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we move forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will ultimately outweigh their earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.

Updated 2026 Player Rankings

Here are some storylines from On3’s first update of the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Grading the 2026 On3 100

The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.

The first three prospects in this update are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. The players ranked No. 4 to 110 are classified as four-star prospects, with grades ranging from 90 to 97. The remainder of the 100 and position rankings are considered three-star prospects.

Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to determine who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we aim to conclude each cycle with 14 five-star prospects, following the lead of the NBA Draft Lottery. Our vision, as we end each cycle, is draft night.

Tyran Stokes on top in race for No. 1

On3’s initial 2026 class rankings debuted in September of 2023 with AJ Dybantsa in the No. 1 spot. When Dybantsa reclassified into the 2025 cycle and moved into that class’s No. 1 position, Brandon McCoy and Tyran Stokes immediately jumped into the conversation for the No. 1 position in the 2026 class.

After McCoy initially held the No. 1 overall spot following Dybantsa’s reclassification, Stokes took over the top position in On3’s January update. Through his early play on Nike’s EYBL Circuit, Stokes has done everything in his power to show why he is at the top of his class. He is a powerfully built 6-foot-7 wing forward. He is explosive around the basket, and when he is playing aggressively, he is a load to keep out of the paint.

Stokes is averaging 21.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game with the Oakland Soliders program through his frist two EYBL stops, including a 30-point, 18-rebounds, 5-assist, and 4-steal game against Team Durant where he drew six fouls and shot 10-18 from the field.

McCoy has not played any travel ball this summer while missing much of his high school year with an injury. We have enough data points on McCoy to have an understanding of what type of player he is. However, there have not been any recent instances to see any improvements he has made to make any moves at the top of this class. McCoy is a long-armed, 6-foot-5 guard. He touches the paint with an aggressive first step and might be the best on-ball defender in the 2026 cycle.

McCoy has earned two FIBA gold medals with USA Basketball (U16 Americas Championship and U17 Basketball World Cup). McCoy is on the list of 33 players set to participate in this summer’s USA Basketball U19 Training Camp competig to make the U19 team that will compete in the U19 World Cup this summer. Stokes, who was teammates with McCoy for both FIBA gold medals, will also be in attendance.

Both players are ranked with five stars, and carry a 99 rating in the most recent 2026 On3 150 update.

Dylan Mingo remains the top PG in updated 2026 On3 150

Long Island (NY) Lutheran’s Dylan Mingo debuted in On3’s initial 2026 class ranking, September of 2023, as the class’s No. 1 overall point guard. The 6-foot-5 Mingo has survived all five updates in this cycle, remaining in the top spot for each.

Not only does Mingo remain in the top spot for Monday’s update, but he has also elevated to No. 4 overall in the class. Mingo has the coveted positional size at the lead guard position. He has shown throughout the early stages of Nike’s EYBL Circuit that he can both collapse a defense off the bounce and guard at the point of attack. The long-armed, 6-foot-5 lead guard has a slippery handle that gets him into advantageous situations inside the teeth of the defense. Mingo is averaging 18.5 points while getting to the free-throw line 7.7 times per game during EYBL play.

This is the first time we have seen Mingo in a featured role throughout high school. He has been a connecting, complementary piece up to this point, playing on very deep high school and travel teams. Mingo is also an instinctive defender, using his length and positional size to slide on or off the ball and showcasing great instincts in the passing lanes.

Behind Mingo, there was slight movement in the overall ranking of players, but their position winthin the top point guard group remained consistent.

1. (No.4) Dylan Mingo, Long Island (NY) Lutheran
2. (No. 10) Ikenna Alozie, Glendale (AZ) Dream City Christian
3. (No. 17) DeRon Rippey, Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy
4. (No. 18) Miles Sadler, Phoenix (AZ) CIA Bella Vista
5. (No. 23) Taylen Kinney, Atlanta (GA) Overtime Elite

The top of the 2026 class remains with 3 five-stars

Christian Collins joins Tyran Stokes and Brandon McCoy as the three players with five-star status in this class. Stokes and McCoy carry a 99 rating, and Collins has the lone 98 rating of this cycle.

Collins is a 6-foot-8 wing who is a high school teammate of McCoy at Bellflower (CA) St. John’s Bosco. Collins has taken huge strides over the past 12 months. While largely unranked across the industry, Collins made his debut with On3 at No. 19 overall in July 2024. Our first live viewing of Collins took place in April with Team WhyNot 15s, and then followed up at the Pangos All-American Camp that June.

It was clear from our first viewing that Collins possesses a unique blend of size, length, athletic fluidity, and skill. Listed at 6-foot-8, Collins is a wing. He can create an offensive advantage off the bounce, and he has a smooth and consistent shooting stroke with range well beyond the three-point arc. Collins is still learning how to be an alpha player, finding consistency in putting the defense at a disadvantage. But that will come, as being a top prospect is still new to him. What Collins does do is give consistent effort on the defensive end, with his off-ball defense and on the boards.

Looking at Collins’ long-term prospects, it is apparent there is still work to do, however, his ceiling remains very high, checking many of the boxes that are coveted at the highest levels of today’s game.
