The Inside Scoop: Two programs standing out for On3 top-30 DL Jordan Hall
Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside four-star defensive lineman Jordan Hall isn’t public about his recruiting process.
Rarely does he post about his recruitment, only announcing his top ten schools in July on Twitter. He also isn’t someone who makes a lot of campus visits to see the programs pursuing him, and he is one of the few coveted 2023 prospects still yet to make an official visit anywhere.
On Saturday though, he showed up at Florida, where the Gators were hosting Kentucky in a night game at the Swamp. The visit wasn’t publicly announced, but Hall showed up decked out in UF gear. That visit was nothing but a good sign for the Gators, according to On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons.
“They’ve been an in-state school in a good position really from the get-go,” Simmons said Monday on On3’s The Inside Scoop. “They offered him last summer, got involved fairly early. Getting him on campus any time is win because he does not get out a lot, does not take a lot of visits. … Getting him in there for the Kentucky game was big for the University of Florida. I think Florida and Georgia are two schools that have kind of separated from the pack. … I think I had to give a top two going into the middle of September, I like where they’re at for Jordan Hall.”
Hall is expected to be a mid-year enrollee, likely setting him up for a decision during or around the Early Signing Period in December.

Jordan Hall Recruiting Profile
Hall is the No. 102 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 9 defensive lineman and the No. 24 senior in Florida.
The Industry Comparison shows On3 is much higher on him than other recruiting services though, ranking him as the No. 27 prospect nationally in the most recent On300 rankings.
Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power writes this about him as a recruit:
“Explosive defensive lineman who has one of the best first steps in the 2023 cycle. Explodes into the backfield in a split second, blowing up plays in the backfield. Shows outstanding short area burst, closing on quarterbacks and running backs. Uses active hands at the line of scrimmage and employs an effective swim move.
… Looks to have long arms, which aid in his ability as a violent finisher behind the line. Has the play speed to track down plays from the backside. Put together some of the best junior season video among defensive tackles in the 2023 cycle. Played well when facing top competition. Will benefit from time in a college strength program.”
