Back in September, there was a lot of buzz behind the scenes that Favour Edwin could be close to committing. Here we are about to close out the month of November, and the 6-foot-8, 290-pound offensive tackle out of McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy is still uncommitted.

But intel suggests that could be changing soon. There is no commitment date set, and he still has official visits to Alabama and Clemson scheduled for December. We will see if he gets that far.

Going back to September, the buzz was around Auburn. The three-star has taken in three games on the Plains this season. He was back for the Iron Bowl. The confidence remains strong at Auburn and I am told the Tigers are at least in Edwin’s top two.

Florida is another school to watch closely. Billy Napier has scheduled an in-home visit with Edwin on Friday, the first day of the contact period for the college coaches. Gainesville has hosted the Peach State prospect twice for games this season. The level of confidence around the Swamp seems a little higher than it has been, but still maybe not to the level of Auburn’s.

Clemson is likely out for Edwin according to a source. Alabama is not out, but they look to be trailing Auburn and Florida. It is coming down to an SEC battle for one of the top uncommitted offensive tackles in the country.

Edwin is very comfortable with the Auburn staff. That may give them an edge, but the race has tightened up a little since the official visit to Florida earlier this month. Alabama is Alabama and the Crimson Tide can never be ruled out. Lets see if they can hold off the Tigers and Gators and get Edwin on campus before he makes a decision.

I am leaning toward a decision before the second weekend in December, but things change quickly in recruiting.

It is expected to come down to where Edwin is most comfortable at. He is looking at all angles, including life on campus without football in the equation. Player development is important too, but it seems overall every day life is No. 1 on his list.
