The start of the season and the early signing period bring an update for the 2025 On3 150 rankings
The 2025 On3 150 player rankings have been updated. This is the eighth update for this class, debuting a top 50 in September of 2022 and expanding that 50 to 75 in March of 2023. We first broadened our 2025 class rankings to a full 150 in July of 2023, and this is our sixth update since fully expanding the list. This November 2024 update is based on 1) in-person evaluations since the end of travel ball season and 2) continued film study and intel on prospects.
Since the last update in August, with numerous showcases and events taking place every week(end), On3 has gone to live events/viewings while also collecting streams to comb through the film as we ensure the maximum exposure of countless events and players.
The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel season, prior to the start of their sophomore high school seasons. That recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.
We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2025 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in 15 players making their debut in the 2025 On3 150. We also have players represented in our 2025 ratings from six of the seven continents across the world. Our national team has continued collecting data on the previously ranked players, putting eyes through the 2025 On3 150 ranking process.
These players are each about to start their high school basketball season as the Early Signing Period approaches on November 13. Our next 2025 On3 150 update is scheduled to drop later in the high school season. With only a couple of updates remaining, there is still some basketball to be played before this class cycle ends.
The goal of the basketball rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh the earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.
Here are some storylines from On3’s fourth update of a full 150 for the 2025 class.
Grading the 2025 On3 150
The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.
The first nine prospects in this update are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. The players ranked No. 10 through 110 are classified as four-star prospects with grades from 90-97. The remainder of the 150 and position rankings are considered three-star prospects.
Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately manifested by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to assess who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we will shoot to end each cycle with 14 five-star prospects following the lead of the NBA Draft Lottery. The vision is draft night.
AJ Dybantsa continues as the No. 1 player in the 2025 class
AJ Dybantsa reclassed up into the 2025 recruiting cycle in October of 2023. He immediately took hold of the No. 1 spot in the rankings, and since that time, there has not really been a question for the top spot in the class. In continuing to speaking with NBA Scouts about Dybantsa, they are saying he is one of the best prospects they have seen over the past decade at this same stage.
Dybantsa brings plus positional size for an NBA wing. Listed at a lengthy 6-foot-9, his ability – at that size – to self-create offense in the half-court is unique among his peers. Dybantsa is a strong athlete, and he is decisive in his movements and decisions. He still needs to continue ironing out his in game jump shot, things can get a little flat. His size and athleticism, along with the ability to create a consistent advantage with the ball in his hands are among the traits that have him here.
The real conversation has started around the No. 2 spot in this 2025 class. Cam Boozer has had a stranglehold on the No. 2 spot this cycle. In September of 2022, when On3’s 2025 class ranking debuted, Boozer was No. 2 behind Cooper Flagg, he remained at the No. 2 spot when Flagg classed up to 2024 and, a couple of weeks later, when the 2025 class welcomed Dybantsa.
This recruiting cycle has seen players like Nate Ament and Chris Cenac take huge jumps. Ament has been a top 15 ranked prospect for On3 since the October 2023 update and Cenac a top 20 ranked prospect for On3 since the January 2024 update. Even with their elevated status from On3, both have continued to improve their games and physical stature. Their continued steady climb currently has Ament sitting at No. 3 and Cenac at No. 4 in the updated 2025 On3 150. Looking at both players, there is no denying their NBA upsde. Their skill sets paired with their size and length lead to intriguing positional versatility at the highest levels.
Looking for these last couple of updates in the 2025 recruiting cycle, there could end up being an interesting conversation for who ultimately ends up with the No. 2 beside their names in this class.
Kingston Flemings holds court as top PG in the 2025 class
This is the third update that San Antonio (TX) Brennan High’s Kingston Flemings has held on to the No. 1 point guard spot for the 2025 class. His status has not changed over the past six months as the explosive, long-armed, 6-foot-3 PG came in at No. 14 overall in the recent update.
Flemings is the top point of attack lead guard in this 2025 recruiting cycle. Not only does he put immense pressure on the defense with his ability to explode downhill and put two in the paint, he also defends the point of attack, not allowing the opposition to get into comfortable positions. He is lengthy and explosive and Flemings plays with a tenacious, competitive demeanor. He will need to continue getting the jump shot more consistent, but he makes the reads, delivers the passes, and controls the play at the point of attack.
Behind Flemings, there was a little movement as Zaragoza (Spain) Felipe Minzer flip-flopped with Daytona Beach (FL) DME Academy’s Mikel Brown as Minzer is now No. 2 and Brown the No. 3 point guard in the class. Arkansas commit Darius Acuff of Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy remained No. 4 at the position and Duke commit Cayden Boozer of Miami (FL) Columbus High stayed at No. 5.
With Hurricane (UT) Utah Prep’s JJ Mandaquit at No. 46 and Washington (DC) Sidewell Friends’ Acaden Lewis (Kentucky) at No. 50, this ranking update has seven point guards ranked among the top 50 players in the class.

Five-stars capped at 9
The plan is to finish each full recruiting cycle with 14 five-star players. We might take a slow climb to get to the 14 number, or we could get there early. What we do not want to make a habit of is giving a player a fifth star and then taking that away. We try to keep the volatility around the five-star line at an absolute minimum throughout the process.
For this November 2024 update for the 2025 recruiting cycle, we have nine five-star prospects. No new five stars were added, but also no player had their fifth star taken away. This is the second consecutive update where no five stars have been added or taken away for this recruiting cycle.
Here are the nine current five stars in the 2025 class.
SF AJ Dybantsa
PF Cam Boozer (Duke)
SF Nate Ament
PF Chris Cenac
SG Darryn Peterson (Kansas)
