The start of the spring travel ball season brings us to an updated 2026 On3 150 ranking

On Monday, On3 updated its class of 2026 player rankings for the sixth time. This is the fourth update for the 2026 cycle to have a full 150 players. The player movement and additions are based on 1) in-person evaluations from the balance of the high school season and 2) film study and intel gathered on prospects since the initial update.
On3’s last update of the 2026 rankings was in January, just after the holiday tournaments and in the middle of their high school season. We are now through the high school regular season and postseason tournaments. Since the last update, On3 has attended numerous national high school events, games, team workouts, etc. The miles have been accumulated by the On3 national team attending esteemed events like the Hoophall Classic, Big Shots Nationals, EYBL Scholastic Playoffs, high school playoffs, USA Basketball, CBG Playoffs, and more.
In-person evaluations are a big part of the overall evaluation process of prep prospects. However, there are multiple showcases and events taking place every week(end) throughout the high school season. To prepare for this update, On3 has also collected streams and data points and combed through the film for the last couple of months to ensure the maximum exposure of countless events and players.
The ranking process is continuous and often fluid. On3 starts ranking recruits after their freshman-year travel team schedule, before the start of their sophomore high school season. That recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played. Movement in this update largely accounts for what we have seen through the majority of the 2024-25 high school season.
We have spent the last couple of months working on this 2026 update so that it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. In total, 11 players made their debut in this update. We have also continued collecting data and viewings of the previously ranked players, keeping eyes on them throughout the full recruiting process.
This is the sixth update for the 2026 recruiting cycle. The next update for this class will come after the May live period and early travel ball events.
The goal of rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh their earlier rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.
Here are some storylines from On3’s sixth update of the 2026 recruiting class.
Grading On3’s 2026 Rankings
The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have ratings between 98 and 100, four-star recruits have ratings between 90 and 97, and three-star prospects have ratings between 80 and 89.
In this update, there are three five-star players rated 98 or higher. Players ranked from No. 1 to 110 are classified as four-star prospects with ratings between 90 and 97. The remaining players, up to No. 150, along with the position rankings, are considered three-star prospects.
At On3, we aim to assess a prospect’s long-term potential, ultimately measured by the NBA Draft. The goal of the ranking is not to evaluate who had the best high school career or who will be the best college player. This is why we aim to end each cycle with 15 five-star prospects, following the model of the NBA Draft Lottery. Our vision centers on draft night.
Tyran Stokes remains No. 1 in the class
Tyran Stokes remained in the No. 1 spot of the 2026 On3 150 for the second consecutive update. At this point in the cycle, it is an interesting conversation for the top spot because no one player has been able to grab hold of the position. Looking at Stokes, he currently has the most intriguing upside, and it comes at an interesting intersection with his current levels of production.
Stokes has good positional size as a 6-foot-7 wing with plus length, a naturally strong frame, and real explosive burst. While the five-star can go out and score the ball from different levels, his passing and possible future as a point-forward-type gives him an intriguing archetype. Most of Stokes’ highlights come from his aerial attack on the rim off straight line drives, however, he is also knocking down shots from beyond the three-point arc.
Stokes is a physically dominating player, and he has been since his freshman year. The measurables put him in the top one percent, physically, of players each time he steps on the court. He is going to need to continue to give consistent effort on the floor, as well as work on making plays/reads off movement, whether looking to score or distribute. There is a defensive upside with his twitch and frame, as he can slide his feet and guard down a lineup. If and when it all comes together for Stokes, there are very interesting possibilities.
While Stokes remains at the top of the class, the door is still open for someone to break through. No. 2 ranked Brandon McCoy is the best perimeter defender in the class. His lengthy frame and twitchy athleticism enable him to pick up 94 feet and dictate the flow of a game. He is a paint-touch guard on the offensive end and will need to continue tightening things with the ball in his hands. No. 3 ranked Christian Collins has as much upside as anyone in the class. The 6-foot-8 wing is a fluid athlete with some explosive pop and the ability to dribble, shoot, and pass. He will need to continue taking steps toward being a consistent alpha on the floor.

We are six updates into this cycle, and this class is starting to get interesting at the top. While this update had a three-player conversation for the No. 1 spot, there is the potential for multiple other players to jump into the conversation. Just in time for the travel season to begin.
Dylan Mingo holds serve as top PG in the 2026 cycle
This is the third update where Long Island (NY) Lutheran’s Dylan Mingo has held on to the No. 1 point guard spot in the 2026 cycle. While the lenghthy 6-foot-5 point guard’s status as the top at his position has not changed, Mingo did climb from No. 9 to No. 8 overall in this most recent update.
Mingo makes plays, and those plays oftentimes help with wins. He is one of the best perimeter defenders in the 2026 recruiting cycle, sliding his feet on the ball, switching down a line up, all the while collecting deflections. Offensively, Mingo is a slippery player. He touches the paint with his change of pace and is a crafty finisher around the basket. Mingo brings a competitive spirit to the court. He will need to continue getting stronger and becoming a more consistent jump shooter, but the ability to get into the teeth of the defense and make a play, with his positional size, remains intriguing.
Behind Mingo, we saw a little movement in the most recent update. Glendale (AZ) Dream City Christian PG Ikenna Alozie came in at No. 11 overall. He was followed by Atlanta (GA) Overtime Elite’s Tay Kinney, Phoenix (AZ) CIA Bella Vista’s Miles Sadler, and Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy’s DeRon Rippey.
Eleven players make their debut in the updated 2026 On3 150
Eleven players made their 2026 On3 150 ranking debut in Monday’s update. The highest-ranked player who made their debut was PG Amir Jenkins of Worcester (MA) Academy at No. 105. The 6-foot-2 Jenkins has long arms with a crafty handle and pace that keeps him in attack mode with the ball in his hands. While thin, he finishes well at the basket and can knock down shots off the bounce.

Sam Funches of Madison (MS) Germantown High rose 59 spots from No. 87 to No. 28 in the most recent ranking update. The 6-foot-11 Funches is a lengthy post player who is a fluid athlete with touch that extends beyond the three-point arc or over his right shoulder. In total, five players in this update ended up in the top 100 and moved up 30 or more spots.
