Report: 2023 SG Thierry Serge Darlan commits to G League Ignite
According to a report from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Thierry Serlan Darlan, a 6-foot-7 point guard from the NBA Academy Africa in Senegal has committed to G League Unite.
“I believe that Ignite is the best choice for me,” Darlan said in the report. “I think that I can develop to become a much better player, and I believe Ignite is the best place for me to do that. Many NCAA programs called me. I’m thankful for their interest, but I think my game is more fit to a pro game than a college game.”
Darlan is not ranked in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, but On3 ranks him highly as a four-star prospect, the No. 25 player in the country and the No. 4 shooting guard in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
On3’s Jamie Shaw wrote in December than the 6-foot-6 guard had been linked to several high-profile programs such as Arizona, Kansas and Arizona.

“The frame pops immediately for Thierry Serge Darlan,” Shaw wrote in December. “He walks on the floor with wide-set shoulders and a continuous flow of arms. The Central African Republic national has a thin frame but a projectable one. One that, as he continues to mature (February 2004 birthday), should be able to add good weight.”
Thierry Serge Darlan currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
