Tim Tebow knows a thing or two about excelling as an SEC quarterback. Tebow was a part of two Florida national championship teams and won the 2007 Heisman trophy during his four year career in Gainesville. Now, he has named his Top 5 quarterbacks in the conference during 2022 SEC Media Days.

Tebow says this might be the best QB group in his time covering the conference. With that said, reigning Heisman winner Bryce Young leads Tebow’s list for the best in the SEC.

  2. Will LevisKentucky
  3. Anthony RichardsonFlorida
  4. Spencer RattlerSouth Carolina
  5. Hendon HookerTennessee

Young won the 2021 Heisman Trophy going away in his first year as a starter for the Crimson Tide. He threw for 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns while leading Alabama to the College Football Playoff. Winning back to back Heismans is a difficult feat yet Young is one of the favorites in the 2022 race as well as atop many 2023 NFL Draft boards.

Will Levis came in second ahead of his second year as a full-time starter. He led Kentucky to a 10-3 season and a Citrus Bowl win with 3,202 passing and rushing yards combined. Levis has also garnered plenty of offseason love as a dark horse Heisman candidate and first round NFL Draft pick.

Florida’s Anthony Richardson and South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler fell third and fourth for Tebow with new opportunities in front of them. Richardson is now set to be the full-time starter for the Gators while Rattler is looking to lead the way in Columbia after transferring in from Oklahoma. Volunteer QB Hendon Hooker rounds out the list after his first season in Knoxville where he threw for 2,945 yards and finished with a 31 to 3 touchdown to interception ratio.

The quarterback position is as stacked a position as there is in the SEC. These are just five of the more than worthy candidates across the conference. Tim Tebow has spoken, though, and is rolling with this quintet above the rest.
