2024 guard TO Barrett talks early visits
TO Barrett was a sophomore starter for last season’s Edmond (OK) North 6A state championship winning team. The 6-foot-3 guard continued that success averaging 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals for Team Griffin on the Nike EYBL 16u Circuit this summer.
“I’m an all-around player,” Barrett told On3. “I can guard the best player and give the best player buckets. I’ll make plays for my teammates; I’m just there for my team. “I try to have a dog mentality, so I like watching (Russell) Westbrook and Dame (Lillard). I like to use my size to my advantage.”
After the successful past 12 months, numerous schools have stepped up in his recruitment. On3 caught up with TO Barrett at the Wootten Top 150 Camp to talk about the current state of his recruitment.
“Right now, I’m hearing the most from Missouri, Oklahoma State,” Barrett said. “I took my first official visit to Missouri and an unofficial visit to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. I don’t have any more visits set yet; I may look to go to Oklahoma State again.”
Barrett talks recruitment
Missouri: I really liked their coach, he kept it real and everything. I like their play style and everything. I like how they have an NBA offense; it’s really like if you are a guard, you can have a lot of freedom to do what you want to. It was good. You can make plays for the big or yourself; it’s good like that.”

Oklahoma: “I visited them at the beginning of the Summer. The staff wants to keep me home. They like that I’m a big guard, a big point guard. They say they like that I play on both sides of the floor, and I play to win.”
Oklahoma State: “If you’re a guard, you can do what you want to. You can make plays for the big or make plays for other teammates. You’re not restricted to one thing if you’re a guard in their system.”
In Barrett’s words
“I’m going to be looking at a place where I can be me and where we can go to work, and we can win,” Barrett said. “I ultimately want to win a championship, and I wanna play, I wanna play as soon as possible, like in my first year. So I want to help my team, and I want to be a major part of my team so we can win.
“Style of play will matter some, but I just wanna be me.”
Scouting report
TO Barrett is a big-framed guard. He makes a lot of positive plays on both ends of the floor. He is a good defender, very instinctive off the ball. Barrett creates lots of deflections and quickly turns defense into offense. He has long arms and plays with a great pace. He gets downhill to the paint and finishes from various angles through contact. While he is a solid to above-average athlete, his jump shot is promising. He does a lot of things that show up in the win column.
