Tom House, 2022 small forward, commits to Florida State
Tom House, a 6-foot-6 small forward out of Dayton (Ohio) Centerville has committed to Florida State basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.
House is the Seminoles’ second commitment of the class, following four-star big man Cameron Corhen. FSU is also targeting Jaden Bradley, Chandler Jackson, Dillon Mitchell, Julian Phillips, and De’Ante Green.
House chose the Florida State Seminoles over Georgia, Furman, Oral Roberts, Ohio, among others.
Tom House on why he chose Florida State
“They have room to make an impact,” House said. “They have six guys that’ll graduate this year. One of the guys is a shooter, and I can try to fill that role. A big thing about their program is they have a list of things that’s all focused on energy. And things that give energy in practices, and how that impacts winning. That’s kind of what we do at my high school so that felt like home in that regard.”

When did House know Florida State would be his future home?
“Kinda the first night I was there,” House said. “Being around the other players was really the big thing. I know they have a good culture there because (Leonard) Hamilton has been there for like 20 years now. The players really held the standard for that stuff and that was the big difference for me between those two schools (Georgia), just how I fit in with the players. Also, they have been winning for a while. (Tom) Crean is kind of trying to rebuild that team because he’s been good at Indiana and Marquette.”
How would House describe his game?
“I’m a really high-energy scorer, that brings a lot of intensity defensively and offensively,” House said. “I’m a leader and the biggest thing about me is winning. I just won a state championship last year in Ohio with Gabe Cupps and Centerville. I’ve won a lot as a high school player and I’m hungry to go play in college and do the same there.”
