Top-10 SF MJ Rice commits to Kansas
The No. 32 overall player in the Class of 2022 On3 100, MJ Rice told On3 he’s committed to Kansas.
Rice is the Jayhawks’ third commitment in the class, following four-star small forward Gradey Dick and four-star power forward Zuby Ejiofor. Kansas has now landed three top-50 prospects, easily giving them a top-10 recruiting class for 2022.
Rice, a 6-foot-5 small forward, plays for Prolific Prep (Calif.) High School. He chose the Kansas Jayhawks over NC State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, among others.

MJ Rice on why he chose the Kansas Jayhawks
“I feel like Kansas is the place for me to be,” Rice said. “I feel like Kansas is somewhere I can grow and mature. They have all resources I need to develop my game and develop my mental. I really enjoyed my visit there. Great coaches, staff, players and environment.”
A few months ago, there was some speculation Rice might choose the pro route – either the Overtime Elite League or the G-League. Interestingly enough, Rice said the new legislation that the NCAA has passed that allows athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness “wasn’t really a big deal in my decision.”
