Philadelphia (Pa.) Chestnut Hill Academy three-star power forward Al Amadou has committed to Marquette, he tells On3.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Amadou chose the Golden Eagles over Georgia Tech, Miami, San Diego, and St. John’s.

Amadou is the No. 122 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 24 overall power forward and the No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

Amadou on his commitment to Marquette

“It was an easy decision,” Amadou says. “Marquette recruited me the hardest and they were at all of my games. It was more than basketball with them. It was more about relationships. They said they would be patient with me. They made the decision really easy for me.”

What type of player is Marquette getting in Al Amadou?

“Someone who’s vocal,” he says. “I’m always talking when we get on the court, so we never get confused. I can guard one through five, make plays, attack closeouts, shooting, rebounding, blocking shots, run the floor, and just a team player.”

Amadou has a message for Marquette fans.

“They’re getting somebody really special.”
