Top-150 recruit Justin McBride down to 6 schools, sets 2 visits

Dallas (Texas) Plano three-star power forward Justin McBride tells On3 he’s down to six schools: Arizona State, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Santa Clara, and VCU.

Missouri is the only school to have hosted McBride for an official visit. He’s set to visit Oklahoma State on September 1-4 and Arizona State on September 9-11. McBride says he also plans to visit Kansas State, VCU, and Santa Clara.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound McBride also received offers from Kansas, Arkansas, Texas Tech, TCU, Colorado State, Wichita State, SMU, and UNLV.

McBride is the No. 146 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 29 power forward and the No. 14 player in the state of Texas.

During EYBL Peach Jam, McBride averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 assists, 2.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blockers per game for Drive Nation (Texas).

Justin McBride breaks down top schools

Arizona State: “I love how they use their wings. They play a lot around the perimeter and push the pace.”

Kansas State: “Their new coaching staff is very great.”

Missouri: “Hometown and I have lots of family to support me out there. Great new coaching staff.”

Oklahoma State: “They have two great players coming in (Brandon Garrison, Jamyron Keller) and I think I can do great things with them.”

Santa Clara: “I love the way they push the ball in transition and find open teammates.”

VCU: “They push the pace all the time. They play really fast.”
