Simon Walker, a three-star shooting guard and in-state recruit, has committed to Auburn and head coach Bruce Pearl, he told On3.

The 6-foot-3 senior out of Huntsville High (AL) chose the Tigers over offers from Iowa, Virginia Tech, and others.

Walker is the No. 149 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 41 shooting guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Walker discusses commitment to Auburn

Simon Walker went in-depth on his decision to choose the Tigers with On3.

“I felt the most comfortable at Auburn,” he said to On3. “Being closer to home intrigues me and I’ve been able to grow a strong relationship with Coach Bruce Pearl and the entire staff at Auburn over multiple years now.”

What led to his trust in the coaching staff?

“The main thing that makes me trust them is their consistent and thorough presence throughout this entire recruiting process for me. They’ve made it clear that they’ve wanted me from day one and their actions have mirrored that.”

In his own words, what type of player is Auburn getting in Simon Walker?

“I’m a natural leader and very vocal. I’m going to look to make winning plays for my team whether it be making a deep 3, taking a charge, or hitting the open man. I can score on all three levels and I know how to play the right way as I see the floor very well.”

He has a message for Auburn fans.

“Auburn gonna be winning some more championships real soon!! War Eagle!!!”
