Class of 2023 defensive lineman Peter Woods of Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson High has narrowed his list to four schools- Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Oklahoma.

He also ranks as the No.4 defensive lineman in the nation, and the fifth-best player in Alabama.

Woods went in depth on each of the finalists.

Alabama

“I trust the development of coach (Nick) Saban and the staff he has,” Woods said. “I’ve seen it at every position and every level. The relationships with the coaches have been 3 years plus.”

Clemson

“Coach (Nick) Eason has been there and done that at every level, coaching and playing,” Woods said. “So he knows what to feed into me and what it takes. Also the culture is 1 in a million.”

Peter Woods Scouting Summary

Compact defensive lineman creates disruption with first-step quickness and speed in pursuit. Highly productive and disruptive while starring for one of the more talented high school teams in the Southeast. Lines up inside and at end for Thompson High. Has some of the best play speed we’ve seen from a defensive lineman nationally. Runs like a linebacker in pursuit. Makes plays behind the line of scrimmage at a high clip. Elevated his play as a junior. Likely projects as a three-technique long-term.
