Top 25 QB rankings entering Week 10 of college football
The On3 Top 25 quarterback rankings are rolling into November with some sizable shifts in the Top 10. There are some notable risers and fallers after big Week 9 performances as Week 10 rolls in.
Despite the movement within the rankings, only one quarterback dropped from the Top 25 — and that was a result of an injury, largely. The conference breakdown is as follows: Eight from the SEC, six from the Pac-12, four Big Ten, three from the ACC, two from the Big 12, one Group of 5 quarterback and Sam Hartman.
Check out the full On3 Top 25 quarterbacks heading into Week 10 below.
1. Caleb Williams, USC
USC scraped past Cal, 50-49, thanks to a missed 2-point try from the Golden Bears. And if it weren’t for Williams and the offense, USC could’ve dropped a third-straight game.
Williams wasn’t exactly lights out, completing just 57.5% of his passes and taking a number of negative plays in the run game. But 369 passing yards and four total touchdowns helped the Trojans survive.
2. Michael Penix Jr., Washington
Penix and Washington struggled for the second-straight week, failing to pull away from a pedestrian Stanford team. Still, the Huskies stayed undefeated.
Penix completed 56.8% of his passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns, but did throw another interception. He’s thrown four interceptions in his last three games.
3. Drake Maye, North Carolina
Whatever hopes Maye and North Carolina had of pushing for a playoff spot — or even a New Years Six bowl — were shattered with a loss to Georgia Tech. Maye actually had one of his better statistical days as the UNC defense faltered.
Maye completed 68% of his passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns while adding 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground with 10 carries. A 10-win season is still on the table, but the Tar Heels and Maye need to shape up immediately.
4. Jayden Daniels, LSU
Perhaps the Heisman favorite at this point, Daniels was off in Week 9. He’ll have a chance to shine on a massive stage against Alabama this Saturday.
Even with a week off, Daniels is leading CFB in plenty of statistical categories. He’s tops (or tied for tops) in the country in: Passing yards per attempt (standard and adjusted), passing touchdowns, passing efficiency, total yards and yards per play.
5. Bo Nix, Oregon
Nix continues to be hyper-accurate and effective for Oregon this season. That continued in a blowout win over Utah on Saturday.
Nix went 24-for-31 for 248 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another. He and the Ducks are still gunning for a rematch with Washington in a Pac-12 Championship Game.
6. Carson Beck, Georgia
No Brock Bowers? No problem. He’s been playing better and better each week, but Beck announced himself on a national stage on Saturday.
Beck went 19-of-28 for 315 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns on Saturday. He’s thrown seven of his 14 passing touchdowns in his last three games.

7. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
After the game, Colorado head coach and Sheduer Sanders’ dad, Deion Sanders, said plainly the issue for Colorado is protecting Shedeur. He’s been among the most hit and sacked quarterbacks in the country this season.
As such, things have become something of a slog for Colorado. Even still, Sanders has been sharp, going 27-of-43 for 217 yards and a touchdown in a 28-16 loss.
8. Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma
Oklahoma might’ve seen its best shot at a playoff go by the wayside in a loss on the road to Kansas. And Gabriel performed fine, albeit in a wonky performance.
He finished with three touchdowns, all rushing, and completed 73.7% of his passes. But Gabriel also only passed for 171 yards and threw an early pick 6.
9. J.J. McCarthy, Michigan
Michigan and McCarthy were off in Week 9. And they spent most of their time talking about the ongoing sign-stealing scandal.
But it’s also the business end of the season coming up for the Wolverines. With the big tests coming, Michigan will need McCarthy — one of the most efficient quarterbacks this season — to be at his best.
10. Jordan Travis, Florida State
Travis and Florida State have somewhat flown under the radar since a flashy September. They roll into November 8-0 and coming off a thorough beating of Wake Forest.
Travis accounted for four total touchdowns and 359 passing yards against the Demon Deacons. He’s only thrown one interception in his last five games.
Quarterbacks No. 11 through 25
11. Sam Hartman, Notre Dame
12. Brady Cook, Missouri
13. Cameron Ward, Washington State
14. Drew Allar, Penn State
15. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
16. Spencer Rattler, South Carolina
17. Tyler Van Dyke, Miami
18. Kyle McCord, Ohio State

21. Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland
22. DJ Uiagalelei, Oregon State
23. Graham Mertz, Florida
24. Michael Pratt, Tulane
25. Joe Milton, Tennessee
Re-entering the Top 25 after a weeks-long hiatus is Milton (No. 25), who has been in strong form of late. Falling out of the Top 25, largely due to being limited by an injury, is Duke’s Riley Leonard.
