Domani Jackson

With Walter Nolen and Evan Stewart‘s commitments to Texas A&M, two of top four prospects in the 2022 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, are now committed to the Aggies.

Texas A&M is in the midst of a battle with Georgia and Alabama for the nation’s top recruiting class. But things are far from decided. With under two weeks until the beginning of the Early Signing Period, a number of elite players remain uncommitted. 31 of the top 100 prospects have yet to make their pledges public, including nine five-star prospects.

The battles over few weeks for their signatures will feature college football’s biggest names: Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas, and many other top programs. And which program ends up with the No. 1 overall class will be determined by the uncommitted prospects on this list.

5-star LB Harold Perkins

On3 Consensus: No. 4
Schools Considering: Texas A&M, Texas, LSU
The Skinny: Harold Perkins has led one of the most unpredictable recruitments among this year’s elite prospects. The Cypress (Texas) Cy Park product said earlier this season that he only wanted to play in the SEC, and then received an offer from Michigan State. He was expected to visit East Lansing, but then didn’t. As of now, Texas A&M, Texas, and LSU look to be the real contenders. He’s originally from New Orleans, and with Brian Kelly taking over at LSU, they could be a major threat. Both of the Texas schools have made him a major priority and would hate to let him get out of the state to another SEC foe.

5-star DB Domani Jackson

On3 Consensus: No. 5
Schools Considering: Alabama, USC
The Skinny: After recently decommitting from USC, Domani Jackson put the Trojans in his top two along with Alabama. There’s no strong feeling one way or another about where he lands, but USC bringing in Lincoln Riley as head coach surely doesn’t hurt their chances. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons has a prediction in for the Crimson Tide, but says things could get interesting between now and the early signing period.

5-star EDGE Shemar Stewart

On3 Consensus: No. 7
Schools Considering: Georgia, Texas A&M, Ohio State
The Skinny: Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace EDGE Shemar Stewart is the third-best defensive player on the board. LSU was thought to be the favorite over the summer, then that switched to nearby Miami early this fall. Ohio State has been a constant near the top, and this looks to be a three-team race between the Buckeyes, Texas A&M and Georgia. Both the Aggies and Bulldogs have put together elite defensive classes are hopeful Stewart can be the cherry on top.

5-star OT Devon Campbell

On3 Consensus: No. 9
Schools Considering: Texas, Texas A&M, USC,
The Skinny: Oklahoma and Texas appeared to be the leaders, but Alabama made an impression on Devon Campbell during his recent visit. And Lincoln Riley leaving for USC could give the Trojans renewed life in this recruitment. As both Texas and Oklahoma prepare to move to the SEC in the coming years, this is exactly the type of offensive line prospect they’ll have to land.

5-star CB Denver Harris

On3 Consensus: No. 15
Schools Considering: Alabama, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M
The Skinny: Houston (Texas) North Shore defensive back Denver Harris initially considered committing in September but opted to hold off. Alabama has been at the top for some time now for Harris, and had he committed this fall, it almost certainly would’ve been to the Tide. But Texas A&M has made a recent move and appears to be the favorite right now.

5-star OT Josh Conerly Jr.

On3 Consensus: No. 20
Schools Considering: Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, USC
The Skinny: Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach tackle Josh Conerly Jr. has long been the apple of Washington’s eye. But with the Huskies’ major struggles this season, the door has opened for other programs to get involved. So far, Michigan is the only school he’s taken an official visit to, though he did take an unofficial to USC and is expected to return for an official. Oklahoma and Ohio State remain possibilities, but unless they receive a visit, they’re on the outside looking in. Conerly is expected to make his announcement at the All-American Bowl on Jan. 8.

5-star S Jacoby Mathews

On3 Consensus: No. 28
Schools Considering: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M
The Skinny: The race remains open for Ponchatoula (La.) High safety Jacoby Mathews. In-state LSU has been considered the favorite at different points, but it’s unknown what Brian Kelly’s hiring means here. Alabama is expected to get a visit before the early signing period opens, and Texas A&M is in the mix as well. Mathews has been to LSU’s campus numerous times over the past few years, and unless the hiring is a total disaster, the Tigers and Aggies appear to be the top two.

5-star S Xavier Nwankpa

On3 Consensus: No. 31
Schools Considering: Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame
The Skinny: It’s been a three-team race for quite some time with Altoona (Iowa) Southeast Polk safety Xavier Nwankpa. Iowa is the home state school, and he came away very impressed with the Hawkeyes’ win over Penn State and the atmosphere in Iowa City. Both Ohio State and Notre Dame remain strongly in the hunt, though. He’s taken official visits to all three and will make his commitment on his birthday, December 8.

5-star EDGE Marvin Jones Jr.

On3 Consensus: No. 32
Schools Considering: Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State
The Skinny: The fight for Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. doesn’t appear to have a clear leader. Jones took a visit to Alabama this past weekend in what was a loaded visitor group. He’s already been to Georgia, Florida State and Oklahoma. He’s given no real indication one way or another about where his mind his at. Georgia, Alabama and Florida State look to be the real contenders.

4-star S Kamari Wilson

On3 Consensus: No. 33
Schools Considering: Florida State, Georgia
The Skinny: LSU and Texas A&M have been names bandied about for a while now with Fort Pierce (Fla.) IMG Academy safety Kamari Wilson. But the odds-on favorite is Georgia. The ‘Dawgs already landed his high school teammate, Bear Alexander, and Wilson has been vocal on Twitter about Georgia. Like Singletary, it would be a pretty huge upset if someone else steals Wilson away from Kirby Smart and Co.

4-star DL Anthony Lucas

On3 ConsensusNo. 43
Schools Considering: Alabama, Texas A&M, Oregon, LSU, Notre Dame
The Skinny: After striking out on most of its defensive line targets, Alabama has now turned its attention to Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral’s Anthony Lucas. He’s taken unofficial visits this fall to each of the contending schools, and his most recent was to see the Crimson Tide this past weekend. Texas A&M appears to have the momentum at this point.

4-star EDGE Enai White

On3 Consensus: No. 46
Schools Considering: Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia
The Skinny: Enai White hasn’t talked about his recruitment much recently, in large part because he’s focused on his team’s state championship run. His high school coach says he hears from Alabama often, and he’s already taken official visits to both Alabama and Georgia. If his team doesn’t advance to the state championship, he will likely take an official to Texas A&M Dec. 10.

4-star DL Omari Abor

On3 Consensus: No. 49
Schools Considering: Texas A&M, Texas, LSU
The Skinny: From On3’s Chad Simmons: “The word is Ohio State is recruiting Omari Abor the hardest and there is a level of confidence the Buckeyes can get this talent out of Texas. Others are in the mix, including Texas A&M, but the buzz is around Ohio State. Abor will announce at the Under Armour All-America game.”

4-star S Zion Branch

On3 Consensus: No. 50
Schools Considering: Ohio State, USC, Oregon
The Skinny: Ohio State has been considered the major contender for Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman safety Zion Branch for quite some time. But the four-star did visit Alabama this weekend and will head to Clemson to next. The Tigers are a little late, but trying to make up ground quickly. USC has long been involved, and Lincoln Riley’s decision to lead the Trojans could help them make a major move.

4-star IOL Kam Dewberry

On3 Consensus: No. 4
Schools Considering: Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma
The Skinny: Kam Dewberry just named his top three schools, and the Sooners, Aggies and Longhorns are still very much in contention. Oklahoma’s uncertain coaching situation could play a big factor, and Texas is pitching him the chance to be a Day 1 starter. Still, Texas A&M is going to be hard to beat with the momentum they’ve built.

4-star IOL Earnest Greene

On3 Consensus: No. 60
Schools Considering: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas
The Skinny: Earnest Greene named his top four schools on Friday, and the Crimson Tide, Bulldogs, Buckeyes and Longhorns are still in contention. Greene is coming off an unofficial visit to Alabama, according to On3’s Chad Simmons. He already took official visits to Alabama and Georgia, but is expected to be in attendance Saturday when they face off in the SEC Championship Game.

4-star WR Shazz Preston

On3 Consensus: No. 61
Schools Considering: Alabama, Georgia, LSU
The Skinny: According to Simmons,  Shazz Preston was in Tuscaloosa a couple of weeks ago for the LSU game and one source said, “Alabama may be the team to beat now.” Preston is working to schedule an official to Alabama, and it could happen December 10. The Bulldogs and Tigers aren’t out of it, but Alabama is making a strong case.

4-star WR Kevin Coleman

On3 Consensus: No. 63
Schools Considering: Oregon, Florida State, USC
The Skinny: Once considered a Florida State lean, Kevin Coleman has become a bit of mystery lately. He has taken official visits to each of the three schools in legitimate contention, with the most recent being to USC on Nov. 20. He could take another now that Lincoln Riley has been hired as the Trojans’ head coach. USC already added four-star wideout Raleek Brown and has its sights set on Notre Dame commit C.J. Williams. But getting Coleman back on campus would say a lot about the interest coming from both parties.

4-star RB TreVonte’ Citizen

On3 Consensus: No. 66
Schools Considering: LSU, Texas, Auburn
The Skinny: TreVonte’ Citizen was considered an LSU lock before the firing of Ed Orgeron. Now, Auburn has pushed to get in the mix for the four-star running back. LSU’s hiring of Brian Kelly means the Tigers have a head coach to recruit to, and Baton Rouge has serious hometown appeal to Citizen.

4-star LB Shemar James

On3 Consensus: No. 71
Schools Considering: Alabama, Florida, Georgia
The Skinny: Shemar James is one of the country’s best linebackers still available, and it appears to be an SEC-centric race for his commitment. All three schools above did in-home visits with James this week, and the four-star was previously committed to the Gators under Dan Mullen. He is expected to take an official visit to Alabama Dec. 10, and that could ultimately decide this one.

4-star DL Khurtiss Perry

On3 Consensus: No. 75
Schools Considering: Auburn, Alabama
The Skinny: It’s a two-team race for Khurtiss Perry, who publicly named Auburn as his leader last weekend after visiting for the Iron Bowl. He visited Alabama in mid-November and said that the Tide have really ramped up their recruitment of him. Whether that will be enough to fend off Auburn remains to be seen. Perry is expected to announce his commitment on Dec. 15.

4-star DL Quency Wiggins

On3 Consensus: No. 77
Schools Considering: Alabama, Florida, LSU
The Skinny: Quency Wiggins recently named his top three, with the Crimson Tide, Gators and Tigers making the cut. He has built strong relationships with each program, and at least as of now, no leaders have emerged publicly.

4-star DB Azareye’h Thomas

On3 Consensus: No. 81
Schools Considering: Florida, LSU, Georgia Tech, Florida State
The Skinny: Azareyeh Thomas had a top three entering the season of FloridaLSU, and Georgia Tech. The Gators and Tigers have made changes at head coach in recent days and the Yellow Jackets have fired the coaches that have been recruiting Thomas. Other schools have made contact, but Thomas told Chad Simmons that he’s still focusing on his original top three. Whether the Gators keep assistant Jules Montinar around could make or break their chances here.

4-star EDGE Cyrus Moss

On3 Consensus: No. 83
Schools Considering: Oregon, Arizona State, USC
The Skinny: Cyrus Moss named as his final three  of Alabama, Arizona State and Oregon a couple of weeks ago. But the hiring of Lincoln Riley at USC could be a game-changer. Moss told Simmons that he plans to visit the Trojans Dec. 11 and that they are “in the mix.” The Crimson Tide look to be out, so it’ll be a Pac-12 battle for Moss’ eventual commitment.

4-star ATH Kendrick Law

On3 Consensus: No. 86
Schools Considering: Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Texas
The Skinny: Kendrick Law took unofficial visits to Texas and LSU recently, and he’ll be back to see the Longhorns this weekend. A visit to LSU is scheduled for the following weekend, which will be the final one before the early signing period. He had in-home visits from each of the four schools this week, and at this point, there’s momentum for Alabama. The big wild card is whether new LSU coach Brian Kelly can make up a lot of ground in a short amount of time.
