Top-40 2023 shooting guard Dusty Stromer commits to Gonzaga
One of the top prospects in not only the state of California but the country is headed to play for Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
Four-star prospect Dusty Stromer has committed to Gonzaga, becoming the first 2023 prospect to make the pledge.
Stromer — a 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame — ultimately chose the Zags over Arizona and UCLA. He also received offers from Houston, Louisville, Illinois, Texas Tech, Creighton, and others.
Stromer is ranked as the No. 41 overall recruit in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s evaluators are even higher on Stromer, ranking him 34th best in the class.

Stromer discusses his decision
“I chose Gonzaga because I just felt that it was right,” Stromer said to On3. “My connection with all the coaches is something that is rare and I feel that I get along with each coach really well. The playing style is perfect for me. I love playing in transition and in the open court. Gonzaga plays to my strengths and I think that I could really help the program right away. I also really like Spokane and had nothing but great experiences with everyone that I met on my two visits to Gonzaga.”
Stromer currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $29K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
