Top-5 SF Brandon Miller cuts list to 8
The No. 19 overall player in the Class of 2022 On3 100, Brandon Miller told On3 he is down to eight options.
The 6-foot-8 small forward from Cane Ridge (Tenn.) High School has cut his list down to six colleges: Tennessee, Tennessee State, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, Kansas. He is also considering two pro routes, the NBA G-League and the NBL.
Brandon Miller has taken four official visits so far to Tennessee, Tennessee State, Kentucky and Alabama. Florida and Kansas will both receive visits at some point, although dates have not been set. Miller also said he wants to “go back and see Alabama and Tennessee, and maybe Kentucky.”
A decision won’t come until next year, Miller said, and he discusses each option with On3.
Tennessee
“I thought the visit was great,” Brandon Miller said. “They have one of the best entrances I’ve seen. They had us drive in the arena with the Rocky Top song playing. So I thought that was pretty cool. Just to drive in an arena, because who’s driving in an arena?
“I think we should go back (to Knoxville). Because when we went, it was on a Wednesday and there wasn’t really anything to do. I think we need to go back and see the environment during a football game or something. I think it’s a good program. They have Rick Barnes. He’s a good guy, a good guy to be around, even outside of basketball. He jokes and laughs with his players, and I like that kind of vibe with coaches like that.”

Tennessee State
“It would definitely be different than others because it’s an HBCU,” Brandon Miller said. “I know they have a good coaching staff over there because coach Penny (Collins) is one of my cousins. I know a lot of people who came out of TSU – Robert Covington – and you see where he’s at now. That just lets you know anything can be done.”
Tennessee State is the local team for Miller, and it’s only about a 15-minute drive from his home.
Kentucky
“Kentucky is always going to be Kentucky,” Brandon Miller said. “The atmosphere is crazy down there. One of the biggest schools in basketball.”
Alabama
“I love Coach (Nate) Oats,” Brandon Miller said. “He’s a good guy, outside of basketball, too. He also laughs and jokes with his players. The rest of the coaching staff is pretty cool, too. That visit I liked because they have nice facilities. It was just a good visit overall.”
Florida and Kansas
Florida and Kansas both cracked Brandon Miller’s top eight despite getting a visit, so far.
“I really like how the coaches are taking time out of their day to contact me,” Miller said.
