Harold Perkins

Cypress (Texas) Cy Park five-star linebacker Harold Perkins has earned the most exclusive rating in college football recruiting: the Five-Star Plus+ label

On3 is identifying players ranked by all four major recruiting media companies as a five star with the Five-Star Plus+ label.

Since the ratings were first released, only four players had earned the honor: Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill athlete Travis Hunter, Powell (Tenn.) High defensive lineman Walter Nolen, Frisco (Texas) Liberty wide receiver Evan Stewart and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei cornerback Domani Jackson.

Perkins is the latest member of the group.

He is the No. 3 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the No. 1 linebacker in the country and the No. 2 player from the state of Texas behind Stewart.

“One of the best run and hit linebacker prospects in the last handful of classes,” On3 Director of Recruiting and Scouting Charles Power said. “Makes big plays on both sides of the ball. Ability to chase plays from the weak-side with ease and fluidity. Improvement in taking on blocks and blowing up offensive linemen is evident on senior video.”

Harold Perkins is the top uncommitted player left in the country

Harold Perkins has a top three of LSUTexas and Texas A&M. The Aggies are believed to be the favorite as of this moment, but Brian Kelly is the x-factor in this recruitment.

Perkins has not yet been on an official visit to the Tigers.

But this weekend he will be in College Station, Texas, along with Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart. The two announced the news on Twitter with a back-and-forth exchange.

Nolen and Stewart are committing to Texas A&M. Hunter is committed to Florida State. Jackson was previously committed to USC before decommitting last month. He will choose between the Trojans and Alabama.
