Cam Newton’s annual Memorial Day 7-on-7 tournament was a competitive tournament all the way through. Established superstars stepped up. There were a few new names that stepped into the spotlight.

Mesh Academy out of the state of Mississippi took home the trophy defeating Hustle Inc. in the finals. Here are the top performers from the star-studded event at Grayson High School.

On3 Co-MVP KJ Bolden

Buford (Ga.) five-star KJ Bolden did five-star things all weekend. He was consistently active on the back end of Hustle Inc’s defense. He was one of the lead communicators all weekend.

Bolden made a few big plays when Hustle Inc needed him. One of those plays was a swatted pass as a rusher on a big third down late in the semifinal game.

Bolden also made a play on Saturday that sums up his skillset. A deep pass was thrown to the center portion of the field.

Bolden’s speed and natural ability to track the football allowed him to cover the ground between himself, the intended wide receiver and his cornerback to snag an interception over both of them.

Co-MVP 2024 WR SanFrisco Magee

McComb (Miss.) 2024 wide receiver SanFrisco Magee stole the day on Sunday. His team took home the tournament trophy.

Magee’s one-handed catch over a defender broke a buzz to the crowd gathered at Grayson to a boil. Even after the game was over, Magee’s catch was still a topic of discussion. Magee is a big, sticky-handed wide receiver that can make plays on any level of the field.

He holds double-digit college offers already.

3. 2024 4-star WR Bredell Richardson

Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood four-star wide receiver Bredell Richardson was one of the most consistent playmakers on the field this weekend. He was a security blanket. Richardson caught deep passes. He made catches over defenders. He was able to get separation and score wide-open. Richardson did everything for C1N’s Platnum team.

4. 3-star WR Debron Gatling

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton wide receiver, Texas A&M commit Debron Gatling was a lot like Richardson throughout the weekend.

Gatling was consistently making plays when his number was called. He and his high school quarterback Luke Nickel got off to a torrid start on Sunday connecting often in the early games.

5. 4-star WR Terrell Anderson

Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley four-star wide receiver Terrell Anderson was smooth all weekend. He snatched the football and ran explosive routes.

Anderson was able to make multiple catches across the middle and in the corner of the endzone.

6. 5-star WR Mike Matthews

At this point, Mike Matthews is Mike Matthews. The five-star playmaker casually made big plays all weekend. He scored multiple touchdowns.

The wrinkle in his weekend is when he bumped down to cornerback to battle four-star Alex Taylor on Sunday. Taylor made a touchdown grab over a defender in the semifinals.

The next drive, Matthews trouted out at cornerback and held up well against a fellow blue-chipper.

7. 2025 4-star DL London Merritt

Yeah, you read that correctly 2025 four-star defensive lineman London Merritt showed up as a tight end this weekend. He plucked the football out of the air multiple times.

Merritt used his size to his advantage to get position on smaller defenders as well. Merritt showcased his athleticism throughout the weekend.

8. 2025 4-star QB Deuce Knight

Lucedale (Miss.) George County four-star quarterback Deuce Knight stood out physically immediately. The big lefty attacked every part of the football with his rocket arm over the weekend.

Knight has established himself as one of the top signal callers that the class of 2025 has to offer. He’s the No. 28 overall prospect in the 2025 On3 rankings.

9. 2024 ATH Antonio White

Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview 2024 athlete Antonio White made plays on both sides of the football. He stands out immediately because of his size. White has the ability to go above the rim as a wideout and as a defensive back.

He did that on a few occasions this weekend.

10. 2025 4-star Dillon Alfred

Gautier (Miss.) four-star wide receiver Dillon Alfred is explosive. He was lighting for Mesh Academy when they needed him to be.

Alfred caught a few impressive deep balls late in the tournament to help propel Mesh Academy to the title.
