Top 20 quarterbacks in the updated 2025 On300 rankings

On3 has rolled out its latest rankings update following the end of summer and the beginning of football season. Top quarterbacks across the nation have begun their senior campaigns and there’s once again been movement at the position in the On300.

Of the top 300 prospects in the latest update, 21 are signal-callers, with 10 checking in inside the top 100 overall. Each of the QBs are off the board, with all but one being committed to a Power Four program.

Here are the top 20 quarterbacks in the updated 2025 On300.

1. Bryce Underwood — LSU commit

School: Belleville (Mich.)
On300 Ranking: No. 1 NATL.

Scout’s Take: “Bryce Underwood is the top quarterback in what looks to be an uptick in talent at the position relative to the 2024 cycle. He has a very high-end combination of arm talent and athletic ability, and his physical tools are among the best you’ll see at this stage in the process. He has an explosive downfield arm, can drive the ball with extreme velocity to every level of the field. And he is a guy — who in addition to how well he has played to this point in his high school career — has a lot of room to continue improving. There’s a lot of untapped physical upside still there and room to grow in skill development. During his junior season, he threw for 40 touchdowns and two interceptions, ran for seven more touchdowns, and has only lost one game as a starter while playing at a high level. One takeaway from his film compared to others in this class is that in addition to his arm talent, he has excellent pocket movement. He senses pressure and responds to it in a really impressive way for a 16-year-old quarterback.”

2. Tavien St. Clair — Ohio State commit

School: Bellefontaine (Ohio)
On300 Ranking: No. 15 NATL.

Scout’s Take: “Tavien St. Clair is clearly one of the most skilled passers in the 2025 cycle. We were able to see him at the Elite 11 Finals, and he was the biggest quarterback on hand checking in at 6’4 and 225 pounds. He’s ready to go right now from a physical perspective, and he has added a lot of weight over the course of the past year. He’s made strides just overall from his sophomore to junior seasons. He is a smooth, easy passer — one who in the camp setting is able to replicate his motion over and over and throw with really good accuracy, particularly when he’s working within drills. When you look at just his physical ability, his natural mechanics, they project well long-term moving forward. We want to see him to just continue to grow as a player, as a decision maker, and make strides within live settings. Whether that is Friday nights, or 7v7, or in an all-star setting. I think there’s areas for him to continue improving there, but there’s no question he’s a stock up prospect and one of the more talented passers in the 2025 cycle.”

3. Matt Zollers — Missouri commit

School: Royersford (Pa.) Spring-Ford
On300 Ranking: No. 18 NATL.

Scout’s Take: “Matt Zollers is a Live-armed quarterback with the physical tools, athleticism and instincts to make him the top reactive playmaker at the position in 2025 entering the senior season. Measured in at 6-foot-3.5, 203 pounds with 9 ⅞-inch hands at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Was a relative late riser onto the national recruiting scene, by way of a breakout junior campaign. A highly instinctive playmaker, capable of hurting defenses with his arm and legs. Touts a very live arm. Capable of ripping throws to the boundary with velocity. Threw passes well over 60 yards in-air as a junior. Has the arm strength to stretch the field with ease. A bouncy, twitchy athlete who thrives in the face of pressure. Able to evade pass rushers and keep his eyes downfield. Shows strong spatial awareness in locating open receivers with defenders in his face. A tough player who plays through contact in the pocket.”

4. Husan Longstreet — Texas A&M commit

School: Corona (Calif.) Centennial
On300 Ranking: No. 23 NATL.

Elite 11 Overall Breakdown: “Husan Longstreet had the strongest arm at the Elite 11 Finals. The Texas A&M commit has a rocket launcher attached to his right shoulder. No quarterback on hand consistently threw with more velocity. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was the On3 MVP on Day 1 and was near the top again on Day 2. He had multiple highlight throws including an absolute rope down the seam that went for a touchdown. Longstreet is a juiced up athlete with considerable twitch to his game. While the arm talent was well established coming in, he showed improved accuracy and ability to layer his throws, as well.”

5. Keelon Russell — Alabama commit

School: Duncanville (Texas)
On300 Ranking: No. 37 NATL.

Elite 11 Overall Breakdown: “Keelon Russell was the steady hand at the Elite 11 Finals. The Alabama pledge consistently threw with good velocity and solid accuracy over the course of the three days. He was particularly effective at attacking the intermediate area of the field. We saw this during his 7-on-7 session – which was among the best of the group. Russell picked apart the opposing defense, throwing on target on 19 of 25 passes for five touchdowns. While others made more eye-popping throws, Russell won with his decision-making and ability to take what was open while delivering with good zip and location. Outside of comfortably and timing in working from under center, there weren’t many discernible holes in the Duncanville (Texas) High standout’s game over the course of the week.”

6. Deuce Knight — Notre Dame commit

School: Lucedale (Miss.) George County
On300 Ranking: No. 32 NATL.

Scouting Summary: “Deuce Knight is a big left-handed signal caller who is the top athlete at the position early on in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at around 6-foot-4.5, 195 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his junior season. Registers as a truly elite athlete at the position via his offseason testing and track and field background finishing his sophomore track and field season as one of the top high jumpers in Mississippi. Transfers that athleticism over to the field on Friday nights. Easily eliminates the angles of pursuit defenders as a scrambler and on designed runs. Tough to bring down in the backfield with his size and reactive quickness. Touts a strong downfield arm. Has made progress as a passer from his sophomore to junior seasons. Still developing, but has the upside to continue improving with continued in-game reps. Transferred to Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tenn. for the beginning of his junior year before heading back to George County just a few games into the season. Also plays basketball. Considered as a very high upside prospect who is just scratching the surface of his physical potential.”

7. Julian Lewis — USC commit

School: Carrollton (Ga.)
On300 Ranking: No. 44 NATL.

Scouting Summary: “Julian Lewis is a polished signal caller who turned in the most productive freshman season among 2026 quarterbacks. Has been touted as a high-profile prospect, earning offers as a middle schooler. Measured in at around 6-foot-0.5, 185 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his sophomore season. Turned in a strong freshman campaign, completing 65.5% of his passes for over 4,100 yards and 48 touchdowns against 12 interceptions while leading his team to a state title appearance. Played well while facing some of the strongest competition among 2026 quarterbacks. Has advanced accuracy and overall polish at this early stage. Very consistent on a throw to throw basis in the camp setting. Shows the ability to locate passes to several areas, including over the middle of the field. Shows nice touch and ability to layer the football. Navigates the pocket well, sliding up to elude pass rushers. Can make defenders miss in space. Has plenty of time to continue growing, but is not overly physically imposing at this stage. Flashes a good arm, but his upside as a pure, top arm talent remains to be seen. Can also continue improving as a creative playmaker as he gets more varsity experience.”

8. KaMario Taylor — Mississippi State commit

School: Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County
On300 Ranking: No. 71 NATL.

Elite 11 Overall Breakdown: “Several of the Elite 11 Finalists elevated their play once things went live in the 7-on-7 portion on Day 3. Mississippi State commit KaMario Taylor had some ups and downs over the first two days, but really broke through on Thursday, making some outstanding throws in 7-on-7 en route to tossing four touchdowns. Taylor was not always comfortable in the highly structured drill work or pro day setup, but was able to show off his considerable talent when he was able to not think and just play in a more free-flowing setting.”

9. George MacIntyre — Tennessee commit

School: Nashville Brentwood
On300 Ranking: No. 87 NATL.

Scouting Summary: “George MacIntyre is a measured in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds during summer campus visits. He’s a tall signal caller with strong projectable tools as a passer and playmaker. Measured in at around 6-foot-5.5, 185 pounds with a 9.25-inch hand prior to his junior season. Has a tall, wiry build that should continue to fill out over time. Touts a tight, compact throwing motion with little moving parts. The release is whippy quick. Flashes good arm strength, with the ability to flick passes out to the boundary and downfield. Mechanical foundation points to a baseline level of accuracy. A bouncy, light-footed mover within the pocket. Avoids pressure in the backfield, stepping up in the pocket. Capable of making high-level second-reaction plays. Has strong improvisational skills. Shows a long stride in the open field. Doubles as a high-level high school basketball player and received high major looks as an underclassman. Plays a tough schedule, but does not have the production or efficiency typical of an elite quarterback prospect. High school team struggled in his junior season. Will need to continue making strides as a player on Friday night and adding weight to his frame, but has the potential to be one of the top quarterbacks to come out of the 2025 cycle.”

10. Bryce Baker — North Carolina commit

School: Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth
On300 Ranking: No. 99 NATL.

Elite 11 Overall Breakdown: “Bryce Baker turned in one of the better 7-on-7 showings on Day 3 at the Elite 11 Finals, as we charted him on target on 19 of 25 passes for five touchdowns. The North Carolina pledge did a great job of finding open receivers and delivering catchable passes that allowed for maximum yards after catch. Baker also was a Top Performer on Day 1, showing a strong downfield arm. Baker’s combination of physical tools and multiple strong showings this off-season have him looking like an ascending prospect entering his senior season at Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth.”

11. Luke Nickel — Miami commit

School: Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton
On300 Ranking: No. 102 NATL.

Elite 11 Overall Breakdown: “Luke Nickel displayed sound mechanics from the ground up at the Elite 11 Finals. The Miami pledge has a traditional high release point and did an excellent job getting the ball up and out throughout the week. He was also very natural and smooth in his drops, showing good coordination and functional mobility when operating from within structure. We rarely saw Nickel out of sorts at the Elite 11 Finals, in large part due to his rock solid mechanical foundation.”

12. Alex Manske — Iowa State commit

School: Algona (Iowa)
On300 Ranking: No. 132 NATL.

Elite 11 Breakdown: “Alex Manske impressed with his ability to consistently deliver with zip. The Iowa State pledge showed a whippy motion and was natural in throwing from different arm slots. Manske is a flexible athlete who moves with twitch. He had some hot streaks on Tuesday evening and showed why he was coveted by many college programs prior to his commitment to the Cyclones.”

13. Ty Hawkins — SMU commit

School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
On300 Ranking: No. 190 NATL.

Scouting Summary: “Ty Hawkins showed playmaking ability both as a passer and rusher as a junior at San Antonio (Texas) Johnson. He is the most productive rusher among the top 2025 quarterbacks, running for 1,079 yards and 15 scores. He was also effective through the air, completing 67.4 % of his passes for 2,239 yards and 25 touchdowns. The 6-foot-0.5, 200-pounder shows good pocket movement and ability to make plays in the face of pressure. He’ll need to continue improving his lower body mechanics in order to maximize his accuracy.”

14. Lloyd Jones — Texas Tech commit

School: Hitchcock (Texas)
On300 Ranking: No. 192 NATL.

Scouting Summary: “Lloyd Jones is an intriguing prospect at the position, given his instinctual play both as a passer and rusher. The 6-foot-2.5, 210-pounder backed up a strong sophomore campaign with another good season last fall, accounting for 3,390 total yards and 49 touchdowns in 11 games. Jones shows encouraging playmaking ability and overall athleticism. He doubles as a very good high school basketball player for a state title team and should see an uptick in development once he focuses on football exclusively at the college level.”

15. Carter Smith — Michigan commit

School: Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot
On300 Ranking: No. 195 NATL.

Scout’s Take: “Michigan commit Carter Smith is a plus athlete at the position and continued to show the ability to threaten defenses with his legs in addition to making plays through the air.”

16. Ryan Montgomery — Georgia commit

School: Findlay (Ohio)
On300 Ranking: No. 200 NATL.

Elite 11 Breakdown: “Ryan Montgomery showed the ability to play with pace and timing in his pro day. While some other quarterbacks operated with a measured tempo, Montgomery went full speed and was able to perform well despite the higher level of difficulty. The Georgia commit showed no hesitation in letting it rip and threw with confidence. Montgomery showed solid arm strength. While he’s not a top athlete at the position, his footwork and drops were sound. Overall, it was a solid showing for Montgomery.”

17. Adam Schobel — TCU commit

School: Columbus (Texas)
On300 Ranking: No. 222 NATL.

On Schobel: “NFL legacy Adam Schobel is a big-framed pocket passer who led his team on a deep playoff run as a junior. He threw for over 2,400 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior, taking Columbus High to a 12-1 record.”

18. Ethan Houck — Liberty commit

School: Brunswick (Md.)
On300 Ranking: No. 259 NATL.

On Houck: Ethan Houck committed to Liberty on June 9. Threw for 1,503 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior last season. Also rushed for 825 yards and 13 TDs. Amidst fourth season as starting varsity quarterback for Brunswick High.

19. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele — Cal commit

School: Ewa Beach (Hi.) James Campbell
On300 Ranking: No. 288 NATL.

Elite 11 Breakdown: “The Hawaii native flashed one of the stronger arms on hand, easily generating velocity on downfield and far hash throws. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele was one of the co-winners of the Rail Shot challenge at the end of the workout along with Husan Longstreet, showing the ability to repeatedly drive the ball into a small windows downfield.”

20. Akili Smith Jr. — Oregon commit

School: San Diego Lincoln
On300 Ranking: No. 240 NATL.

Scout’s Take: “Oregon legacy commit Akili Smith Jr. has good tools at the position as a taller passer with a downfield arm and improved functional movement skills. He finished day three of the Elite 11 Finals with 16 of 22 passes on target for four touchdowns and one interception.”
