It is a strong year for tight ends in the 2025 recruiting cycle as modern passing games continue to revitalize the position. Two five-star prospects headline the class with eight total tight ends ranking inside the On3 Industry Rankings top 150.

Every tight end in the top 35 has already come off the board, and some schools have stockpiled multiple prospects at the position.

Below are the four programs that have put together strong tight end classes midway through August.

Georgia

5-star TE Elyiss Williams (No. 24 NATL., No. 1 TE)
4-star TE Ethan Barbour (No. 190 NATL., No. 11 TE)

One of two five-star tight ends in the senior class, was the earliest addition to Georgia’s 2025 class when he committed back in April 2023. Williams is at the top of his position in the class alongside Kansas State five-star commit Linkon Cure.

The second recruit to pledge to the Bulldogs in this cycle came within the same position group when Ethan Barbour committed to UGA in September 2023. As the No. 11 tight end in America, Barbour also ranks as a top-25 prospect in the Peach State.

Tennessee

4-star DaSaahn Brame (No. 99 NATL., No. 3 TE)
4-star Jack Van Dorselaer (No. 320 NATL., No. 20 TE)

A commitment from Jack Van Dorselaer came Tennessee’s way on Jan. 7 following Van Dorselaer’s junior season at Southlake Carroll. He accounted for six touchdowns with the Dragons in 2023.

DaSaahn Brame joined the class on July 28 when he flipped his commitment away from Oregon — one month after pledging to the Ducks. Brame is the No. 3 tight end in the class and will come to Knoxville by way of Derby, Kansas.

Ohio State

4-star Nate Roberts (No. 167 NATL., No. 9 TE)
4-star Brody Lennon (No. 319 NATL., No. 19 TE)

In May 2023, Nate Roberts committed to Notre Dame before decommitting from the Irish a month later. Fast forward nearly a year, and Roberts joined Ohio State’s On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings No. 1 class.

Coming out of Cleveland Gilmour Academy, Brody Lennon chose to stay within the Buckeye State on June 27. Last year for the Lancers, Lennon racked up 750 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He also accounted for 86 tackles, 25 for a loss, on defense.

Miami

4-star Brock Schott (No. 183 NATL., No. 10 TE)
4-star Luka Gilbert (No. 274 NATL., No. 14 TE)

Brock Schott and Luka Gilbert committed five days apart back in April. First was Gilbert out of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West. Gilbert helped the Firebirds to an 11-3 record in 2023 and a regional final appearance.

Immediately following Gilbert’s commitment was Brock Schott’s. A top-10 tight end in the class, Schott accounted for 743 yards and six scores on offense while recording a staggering 32 tackles for loss and 19 sacks on defense.
