The 2021 college football season is only entering Week 3, but it has been a rollercoaster already for the ACC. Coming out of Week 1, the ACC was .500 as a conference, which heightened the concerns of many experts, including ESPN’s Paul Finebaum.

Clemson, North Carolina, and Miami, the presumed top three teams in the conference, all lost on the opening weekend. Entering Saturday’s slate of games, the ACC has combined for a 19-10 record. Some ACC teams are still trying to incorporate transfer additions into the game plan.

No. 6 Clemson is the highest ranked team from the ACC entering week three. No. 15 Virginia Tech, No. 21 North Carolina, and No. 24 Miami also cracked the top 25.

Many ACC teams brought in impactful transfer additions to help their team during the 2021 season. Earlier in the week, the ACC Digital Network released seven of the most impactful transfer addition sin the conference. The group is headlined by a pair of players form each of Florida State and Miami.

The ACC’s top transfer additions:

Jermaine Johnson, defensive line, Florida State: Johnson appeared in 21 games over two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs prior to transferring to Tallahassee. So far, Johnson has 18 tackles, six tackles for loss, and four sacks this season for Florida State.

Ty Chandler, running back, North Carolina: Chandler played with Tennessee for the previous for seasons, where he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. So far this year, Chandler has 124 yards and a touchdown with the Tar Heels. He is a big transfer addition in the ACC due to UNC’s need to replace a lot of offensive talent.

Tyrique Stevenson, defensive back, Miami: Like Johnson, Stevenson also spent the first two years of his career at Georgia. He played in 24 games for the Bulldogs. Stevenson has 14 tackles and three passes defended this season.

Jelani Woods, tight end, Virginia: Woods spent the previous three seasons at Oklahoma State. With Virginia, Woods has six receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown.

Trae Barry, tight end, Boston College: Barry is a fifth-year senior that spent the first four seasons of his career at Jacksonville State. With Boston College, he has six receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Charleston Rambo, wide receiver, Miami: Rambo began his career at Oklahoma, where he caught 76 passes with 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns. With Miami, Rambo has 12 receptions and 86 yards. Rambo has a touchdown reception against Michigan State in week three.

McKenzie Milton, quarterback, Florida State: Milton’s story is well-known by now, but his return to football is nothing short of miraculous. He almost led Florida State on a magical comeback in week one against Notre Dame before ultimately falling short. Milton has completed 23 of his 38 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown this season. As Milton grows more comfortable, he could be one of the top transfers in both the ACC and all of college football.
