Transfer Portal: Ali Ali attracting abundance of high major programs

Akron’s leading scorer Ali Ali entered the transfer portal on Friday. College coaches started contacting the 6-foot-8 wing almost immediately.
At 6-foot-8, he led Akron in scoring this season, averaging 13.9 points while shooting 40.7-percent from three. This season, he was named Second Team All-MAC and the 2022 All-MAC Tournament team. The wing has played three seasons at Akron and stated 66 games and averaged 7.7 points per game.
On3 caught up with the Noblesville, Indiana native this weekend to discuss which schools had reached out to this point.

“Virginia, Ohio State, NC State, Southern Cal, Memphis, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Missouri, Florida, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Marquette, etc., have all reached out,” Ali said.
Coming out of Kendallville (IN) East Noble High, Ali also had offers from Indianapolis, Missouri Southern, and Davenport. This will be his first transfer. He should have one year of true eligibility remaining along with his optional COVID year.
