The transfer portal is like a living organism at this time, shape-shifting and moving by the minute. One player commits, and another goes in; it is a vicious cycle that should last until May 1. May 1 is the last date players can put their name in the transfer portal and not be penalized by sitting out a season. 

It is not yet May 1, so On3 is here to make things as easy as possible to navigate. It is 2:00 PM on April 26, here is version 2.0 for point guard rankings in the transfer portal.

1. Junior Grant Sherfield (Nevada)

Grant Sherfield is a 6-foot-2, 189-pound point guard. He has been at Nevada for two years after playing his first season at Wichita State.

In 2021-22 Sherfield averaged 19.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 0.6 steals in 35.7 minutes per game. He shot 43.5-percent from the field, 33.3-percent from three, and 87.1-percent from the free-throw line.

2. Junior Jahmir Young (Charlotte)

Jahmir Young is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard. He has played all three seasons at Charlotte. 

In 2021-22 Young averaged 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 46.8-percent from the field, 34.1-percent from three, and 89.2-percent from the free-throw line.

3. Freshman Tyrese Hunter (Iowa State)

Tyrese Hunter is a 6-foot-0 and 180-pound point guard. He played his only season of college basketball at Iowa State. 

In 2021-22 Hunter averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.0 steals in 31.9 minutes per game. He shot 39.1-percent from the field, 27.4-percent from three, and 68.7-percent from the free-throw line.

4. Grad transfer Jaelin Llewellyn (Princeton)

Jaelin Llewellyn is a 6-foot-2 and 185-pound guard. He has spent all four years at Princeton. The Ivy League did not play in 2020-21 due to COVID, but Llewellyn remained enrolled, losing the year of on-court eligibility.

In 2021-22 Llewellyn averaged 15.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.7 steals in 32.5 minutes per game. He shot 44.7-percent from the field, 38.6-percent from three, and 69.6-percent from the free-throw line.

5. Grad transfer Xavier Pinson (LSU)

Xavier Pinson is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound point guard. He played last season at LSU and his first three seasons at Missouri.

In 2021-22 Pinson averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.9 steals in 28.1 minutes per game. He shot 36.5-percent from the field, 24.2-percent from three, and 80.2–percent from the free-throw line.

In 2021-22 Couisnard averaged 12.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.1 steals in 24.8 minutes per game. He shot 39.6-percent from the field, 32.3-percent from three, and 67.9-percent from the free-throw line.

Shakeel Moore is a 6-foot-1 and 190-pound guard. He played his first season at NC State and then transferred last year to Mississippi State.
