Transfer Portal: Ranking the small forwards 2.0, Top 10 on 4/28

The transfer portal is like a living organism at this time, shape-shifting and moving by the minute. One player commits, and another goes in; it is a vicious cycle that should last until May 1. May 1 is the last date players can put their name in the transfer portal and not be penalized by sitting out a season.

1. Sophomore David Jones (DePaul)

David Jones is a 6-foot-6, 195-pound small forward. He enrolled in December of his freshman season and has been at DePaul for a season and a half.

In 2021-22 Jones averaged 14.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 29.9 minutes per game. He shot 44.5-percent from the field, 29.7-percent from three, and 69.2-percent from the free-throw line.

2. Junior Baylor Scheierman (South Dakota State)

Baylor Scheierman is a 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward. He has spent all three seasons at South Dakota State. 

In 2021-22 Scheierman averaged 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in 33.3 minutes per game. He shot 50.8-percent from the field, 46.9-percent from three, and 80.2-percent from the free-throw line.

Emoni Bates is a 6-foot-7, 190-pound small forward. He was at Memphis last season.
