North Duplin (NC) Senior High On3 Industry four-star 2026 defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin has committed to Texas A&M.

The 6-foot-3, 303-pound Ruffin has gotten hot on the recruiting trail with Ohio State, LSU and Vanderbilt being the latest to jump into the mix. He also held early opportunities from Florida State, USC and Texas among others.

But a visit to College Station for the McNeese State game set the tone in Ruffin’s recruitment and no program recruited him harder.

“Man just the hospitality, everything, they’re just perfect,” Ruffin told On3. “I felt they were the perfect college for me.

“I was laying in my bed and something sparked my mind just go ahead and commit to this college.”

Ruffin becomes commit No. 4 for Texas A&M early in the 2026 cycle joining touted quarterback Helaman Casuga and defensive backs Ryan Gilbert and Markel Ford.
