Travis Hunter jokingly shuns Cam Newton, warms up around Terrell Owens ahead of UCF game
The former NFL stars were out in full force for Saturday’s game between Colorado and UCF. Buffaloes star Travis Hunter shared moments pregame with both Cam Newton and Terrell Owens.
An interaction between Hunter and Newton, a former quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, went viral on social media in which the Colorado receiver appeared to blow him off. However, that was not the case as it was later revealed that Hunter was merely joking with Newton.
The pair were seen later talking and laughing with each other on the sideline and there’s clearly no beef between them. In fact, Newton was the former 7-on-7 coach for Hunter during his days as a five-star prospect in high school.
Cam Newton wasn’t the only former NFL star to show out in support of Travis Hunter and Colorado, however. He was also seen pregame warming up with Owens, a Hall of Famer with the 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys among others.

It’s safe to say that Hunter is learning from the best as he is likely to make the move to the pros after this season. He is a projected first-round pick this season and the main question is whether he will play receiver or cornerback at the next level.
Hunter plays both positions for the Buffaloes and joins an elite group of two-way players in college, including his current coach, Deion Sanders. He leads Colorado with seven catches for 81 yards and a touchdown in addition to one pass defended on defense at halftime.
The Buffaloes are holding on to a 27-14 lead after the first half. They’ll look to hang on and improve to 2-0 in Big 12 play after winning their conference opener against Baylor on a Hail Mary play to force overtime.
