Saturday afternoon, Georgia and Texas will square off in the SEC Championship. The two teams will vie for a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the Wednesday injury report has been revealed for both teams.

It’s shaping up to be a high-profile rematch between Georgia and Texas in Atlanta. The two teams previously played at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium – a 30-15 Bulldogs victory over the then-No. 1-ranked Longhorns. Now, they’ll take the field once again with a chance to become the SEC champion.

Neither team lost again after their last matchup. Georgia finished the year 10-2 and Texas completed the 11-1 season by defeating Texas A&M in the season finale. The winner of the Lone Star Showdown punched its ticket to the SEC Championship, and it was the Longhorns who came out on top.

Saturday’s game also has some College Football Playoff implications. Both teams came in the Top 12 of the rankings, meaning the winner is likely to be one of the four highest-ranked conference champions. As a result, it would seal a bye into the quarterfinals.

Texas and Georgia will square off in the SEC Championship on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Here’s the Wednesday injury report for both teams.

Georgia

Texas

One of the biggest challenges for Georgia on Saturday will be stopping Texas’ offense. The Longhorns rank No. 14 in the nation in total offense, averaging 450.1 yards, and No. 21 in scoring with 34.8 points per game.

Of course, there’s also the possibility Steve Sarkisian throws both quarterbacks into the game. Quinn Ewers is the starter, but Arch Manning came in with a goal-line package last week against Texas A&M, which could indicate his usage in the SEC title game. Georgia will be ready, though.

“I think first and foremost, they come from a great program,” Bulldogs defensive back Dan Jackson said. “They’re both really smart guys. Nobody’s the exact same. We’re definitely going to be watching a lot of film this week, like we have in the past. We’re just going to be ready for both of them. They’re both great athletes.”
