Tulane is expected to hire Troy’s Shiel Wood as its new defensive coordinator, sources tell On3.
In his one year as Troy’s defensive coordinator, Wood helped the Trojans rank No. 8 nationally in scoring defense and finish with a 12-2 record.
Before Troy, Wood was an assistant coach at Army for two seasons after working at Georgia State, Georgia Tech and as a defensive coordinator at Wofford.
Wood will be the replacement for Chris Hampton, who left Tulane to take a co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach job at Oregon.
