Top 2023 TE Ty Lockwood trims list to four with decision nearing
Over 20 schools have offered Thompson’s Station (Tenn.) Independence tight end Ty Lockwood. The 6-foot-5, 220 pound four-star is about to begin his junior year and he is ready to turn his focus towards four schools.
“It is down to Florida State, Ohio State, Penn State and South Carolina,” said Lockwood. “I took visits to Ohio State and South Carolina in June then I got back to Ohio State in July. I just visited Florida State last weekend too.”
Lockwood’s recruitment got started early. He has been building relationships with coaches for well over a year and he knows what he is looking for in a school.
“I got it down to these four schools because of the fit. The scheme each school runs fits me and I like how each school uses the tight end.

From Four to One
Now that Lockwood is down to four it is clear that he is moving towards a decision. That may not be too far off.
“I would say I am pretty close to picking the school,” said Lockwood. “It comes down to the schools I feel can develop me best and playing for the right coaches.
“I want to be at a place that works and competes, but has fun too.
“I am looking for that school that is a total package for me.”
